I decided yesterday that the (potential) move to Canada will come at the end of a RTW trip taking in South America way and Oz.

At least I'm not Scottish...
Happened to catch another episode of "デイリーサッカーニューズFOOT!", (Daily soccer news football)", and they have a section called STFC, or Small Town FC. This was installment 14 (never seen any of the previous 13), and featured Tobermore United. Talked about the floods of a few years ago, and subsequent struggles, but the reason for their inclusion became clear when they spent time talking about how it was the only NI club for which George Best had ever played competitively. Their chairman, a guy called Beatty, said 'he had a reputation for not turning up, or playing badly, but....ah....it didn't really matter.'
We should let them know about FC Termonbarry Kickers
I already contacted them:

Saw on the Beeb that Iain Banks has announced he only has months to live. Very sad news; one of the finest writers of recent times.

BonnieShels doesn't like Football Special. Possibly one of the finest soft drinks ever to hit the market. I dislike this.
My sister used to live on that stuff. I've never actually tried it myself, strangely.
Oh. Well. In that case, I'm stumped.
It's okay. I'll be at the game on Sunday. I'll try it again to satiate your affrontedness!
Do. Please do.
trying to buy a house sucks. keep finding new ways I'm going to have to spend money.
Meeting the girl of your dreams sucks.
Stupid boyfriends.
Oh, and I came on to check out updates and post that I'm seriously peed off with our so called Minister for Sports and his lackeys in TI. They had a trade mission over here a couple of months back and I organised a meeting with the GM and head coach (who is shadow GM) of a major club who were interested in coming to Ireland for pre-season this summer. The head woman from Carton house was also so I set up a meeting between the TI guy, Carton House lady and the club. What happens? Nothing, the Irish fail to show! 60 staff and players and more than 100 fans going to Ireland for 10 days, and they don't show! And yesterday I spent the day confirming bookings for Slovenia for the club, where they'll bring min. 65 staff and players and the fan clubs have requested 120 places so far. This is not the first time it's happened with Leo and his crew, but jesus, with all the blarney about Gathering etc, you'd think they'd be happy with a large tour group who'd set the trend. In a way I don't mind as we make more from the Slovenia trip, though as an Irishperson I'm seriously embarrassed.
I think I just saw my sister drinking it, rebelled and decided I "didn't like it" despite never having tasted it. In fact, I was much the same with most food and drink throughout my youth. I'd be adamant I didn't like a thing even though I'd never have tasted it in my life, just because of how it looked. I was a very picky and unexperimental eater. Any time the family would eat out in a fancy restaurant, I'd inevitably embarrass them as they tried to pass themselves off as gastronomic connoisseurs, but there was me sat at the end - napkin still on the table-top, good heavens - gobbling up my plain melon to start and plain chicken breast and chips for my main course. For about a decade of my life, that was genuinely all I would ever have ordered if we ate out. I might have had a slice of toast or two as well actually. Buttered!
Then again, my sister, also in her youthful naivety, did once order "spaghetti bolognese without the bolognese".
Ballybofey time!
Yesterday, an 87-year-old long-suffering Alzheimer's victim, a feeble old woman who was barely an empty husk of her former self, died of a stroke. And people danced in the streets.
Cd, have you never just been walking along and stumble, okay, not hardcore, but it's junior league!
You could say she reaped what she sowed. Her policy and vision for Britain was one of self interest and a lack of empathy and sympathy for others.
Personally, I'm more sick of all the fawning over her legacy, by people who probably never lived in areas that suffered, and continue to suffer, as a result of her policies. You could actually say the whole of europe is feeling the consequences, as she was the trail blazer for light touch regulation that has directly lead to the banking/ debt crisis (and I've no doubt she was a hero to the likes of McCreevy here).
No celebrating with me - not until I get confirmation the bitch is in the ground.
I did a bad thing tonight and now I can't sleep. I wonder if copious amounts of alcohol would help, lots in the apartment, just have to figure what works fastest!
I have found that copious amounts of alcohol never help.
