Doesn't mean much, but two Irish players, Morrisson and Lawrence, got the nod in football365.com's Championship team of the season.

when he came here, in a jan transfer window, he came a close second for player of the season that season. but in that summer, promoted sunderland displayed an interest and leicester blocked it and he never seemed as motivated again.
he was linked with several sides, mostly SPL ones, but always elected to stay on a contract which was using the last of leicesters parachute money from their last spell uptop. this has fostered a bit of resentment here, but i guess Maybury would have a different view on it.

Quite the night for Brendan Moloney. His first full game of the season, first goal, and first booking!
Moloney is highly regarded at Forest. One for the future and can play in quite a few positions.
more on the Norris to leicester story, im guessing form the Irish point of view, its much of a muchness whether he goes to ipswich, leicester or stays where he is. all provincial clubs with half an eye on the division above AND below them at times :)

Pat Cregg was motm against Celtic. He didn't just sit in front of the defense. Got forward quite a lot. Didn't misplace a single pass and worked hard as usual off the ball. Still only 21 and certainly a potential Ireland international.
McGeady was very poor.
Did any else see Soccer AM yesterday? Shay Given was asked about his teammates.
He said Stephen Carr was the best trainer, and treats each session like a match.
Also said Carr was the biggest moaner in the squad, which wasn't too surprising

i was a bit dissappoonted with what Sean Scannell showed tonight, i had been looking forward to watching him play, he was busy enough but didnt catch the eye particularly for me, he was subbed with 15 to go.
Morrisson played the 90 and didnt miss any scorable chances, but again, id been expecting a bit more, given his scoring ratio this season. he fell on his arse over a plastic advert board and bowed to the howling crowd when he got to his feet, that was the most memorable moment from him imo.
leicester are improving, and probably deserved the win, just, trouble is there are arent any Irish in the squad at present, with Sheehan looking like he has lost the battle for the LB spot to the other academy lad,
this was on sky, any of ye watch it? any thoughts, Scannell in particular?
I watched from minute 10 to minute 40 and was impressed with Scannell. He kept things simple which is encouraging for his type of player at that age. He really doesn't look older than 12. All his passes found a teammate in that time and he was simply not given an inch. Double marked when out on the right, very tightly marked when moved centrally. That is a very tough league to play in. I couldn't believe how much of a battle the match was from what I saw. Some world class players would have found it hard to have any influence in yesterdays match.
I'd agree with EB's assessment of the match.
Two hard working defensive teams going at it in the most traditional of battles.
Tonnes of long balls, and the ref was letting all sorts of clutching and grabbing to go on off set pieces.
Scrappy goal, scrappy match- I wouldn't be too worried about Morrison's or Scannell's seeming invisibility unless we're going to be up against a Jack Charlton managed team in World Cup Qualifying!

Garvan is back playing well having missed almost all the previous season.
Gibson is playing first team football in England for the first time (didn't play last night) and McCann is still getting praise for his performances. That's progress of sorts. Garvan is widely regarded as one of the best talents, let alone best young talents, outside the Premiership.
I don't think Quinn has been prominent in Robson's team this year and Cregg's good form was really only highlighted this week.
They're all still a bit young to make a big impact so bubbling under is ok as long as they're still progressing.
