15,000 tickets snapped already since Wednesday!
Great to see Foot back online.
How many tickets sold so far anyone know?
25,000 according to Dan McDonnell's newslatter this morning, so it's trending behind last year's final (which eventually reached 38k)
Super, will look great on TV
Of course there is the casual sports fans who will decide nearer the day, weather wary fans, tourists and the like, another 5-10,000 could be added!
It's not all about breaking the previous Cup final's attendance, so many things have to be taken into account.
I reckon anything above the 30,000 mark will be considered a success by the FAI.
Id say a good few Rovers fans havent bought yet, up to yesterday we had 3 matches to play before the Cup.final.
I only bought my ticket a couple of days ago.
Still will be way short of last year though
I'm heading the the final as a neutral (though have decided to buy in the Cork end).
Looking on Ticketmaster, there is limited Cork availability now but quite a lot for Rovers. I would therefore question where Ticketmaster/the FAI have drawn the line between the 2 teams in terms of tickets. I wonder have they given Rovers a few blocks too many, and Cork too few?
For years the way Ticketmaster release tickets makes no sense whatsoever. Ridiculous stuff when they know the whole stadium will be opened.
35,000 tickets sold for the Cup final. 38,723 attended last year's final.
Great to see the cup final crowds so high every season, brilliant.
Still doing all the seat kills to keep the LOI peasants in check. I’m pretty sure it is another code that is more famous for pitch invasions.
Plenty of empty areas regardless.
Jesus that was a nasty challenge from Nevin. Honahan is lucky he hasn’t come away with a broken leg there, if his leg was planted it 100% would’ve been the case
No straight red for Burke in Tallaght but no referee hesitation when it is a clear red for an offence against Shamrock Rovers.
Rightband proper
That’s the full house for Bradley. Could be on his way to pastures new next year.
Red card was the key moment. Only a Shamrock Rovers player would have avoided a red card for that! 😉 Great result for Bohs! Congratulations to Shamrock Rovers! Great hosts in the semi final.
Many thanks to shamrock rangers for helping Bohemian FC achieve European football next year. We will enjoy or day in the sun. Muchas gracias
Hopefully you’ll draw a club from Israel and they’ll blow you away ( not literally of course).
What a wonderful achievement by Bradley and his team and the players - especially happy for Gaffney who showed huge resilience and application to overcome an almost career ending injury and finish the season in fairytale fashion today .
Thought Cork were like Derry last year. Decided to beat themselves.
The red card threw the final.
But why take off Bolger and you center half after conceding??
Embarrassing descions.
Honestly thought Rovers were there to be beaten. Offered very little until the sending off.
Cork left it on the table
Well done to Rory Gaffney on his great striker/center forward performance. Was sitting a few rows behind his family and friends by chance, and there was great joy in that group in the 2nd half. (spotted Viv Anderson and family also at end of the match).
Agree that the red card was key for the outcome, and as mentioned it probably would have been a yellow plus a strong word for a Shamrock Rovers player. A good atmosphere at and around, the aviva and a great crowd up from Cork. A bit of a negative was how late a section of the crowd took their seat before the start.
Do u realise how bad that aounds :)
Sure, Rovers had the ball, but Cork were very comfortable, and Rovers offered nothing until the sending off.
Cork gifted the final away, Rovers didnt need to win it.
I will never understand how someone employed in football would make the subs Cork did at the time they did after the 1st goal.
MOD EDIT: Please keep it on topic and none of the childish nonsense.
One of the duller couple finals of recent years. Cork were doing fine up until the red card, game was over at that point. Rovers looked like a team who played away in Europe on Thursday. Didn't look like 35,000 with so many massive empty areas, maybe we're just getting greedy after recent years but FAI would be first to brag if a record was set, why are they raising prices when we aren't yet at a point where we are selling out or at least hitting 40k + every year? Overall, an underwhelming final but fair play to Rovers a double is a special achievement
The plans for Dalymount were changed to 8,000 years ago, and also Derry and Drogheda managed to get just under 39,000 last year without any Dublin club involved. That was the 2nd highest since the 50's and 3rd highest ever.
Granted Pat's and Bohs do hold the record of highest attendance.
Mod Edit: Please keep it on topic and none of the childish nonsense.
McGintys saves when it was nil all were huge. Two of them were excellent saves. One deflected in front of him and the header that he got up and stopped the rebound as well even though that was offside. Great goalie.
