There are plenty of grounds I would choose to host a final over Tolka. Game can't be played in Lansdowne. The UEFA Cup Final is 4 days later, and UEFA won't want the pitch in even worse condition than it has been lately, or if relaid, certainly not a game played on a brand new surface.
Regarding choice of kits, there shouldn't need to be a choice. White shirts don't clash with Green-And-White Hoops. Never have, never will. Both teams should be able to wear their home kits.
As for Sligo fans moaning about our "home advantage", wasn't their League Cup Final last year at "home"? Suppose that was alright though. It will be in Tallaght, we will be at home, and it will be a Saturday evening. Just like the good old - well 2009 - days.

Dunno about that, one off game ? Cup final, plus we beat them 3 times in the league last year, and twice comprehensively. They have a very good team, no doubt about it, and they will probably win the lge, but I`d say we have a very good chance in this game, regardless of the venue, our first cup final since 2002, so we`ll be up for it.Quote:

It's only in the last few years LOI refs have gotten OTT on the jersey clashes. Bohs weren't allowed wear their new white away strip against Pats the other week because the ref said both teams would then have white sleeves. I wonder did that ref watch the Spurs v Arsenal match tonight?

Linfield beat Shels in Tolka. Drogheda beat Linfield in Windsor. Derry coped well enough against us when we last had a "home" cup final.

Why was there never this level of whinging when FAI cup finals were played in Tolka and Dalymount with Shels/Bohs playing? We played Derry in a cup final in Tolka when we were playing home games there. 3 of the the 5 Setanta Cup finals have been played in one of the finalists home venues without a whimper. In a case of choosing between Oriel and Tallaght there really is only one choice.

O'Neill is a fan of the flagging cross-border competition, although he believes that the earlier rounds should be staged at weekends in future to increase profile and make it easier for Northern clubs.
