We're a 2nd half team
We're a 2nd half team
Time to yank McClean off for Brady, he hasn't done much at all tonight.
Can't see us getting anything out of this, we should be 2-0 down at this point. Desperately need a substitution to switch things up.
Keogh's anticipation not good enough.
Is Ward on the field?
Quinn on for Gibson and Brady on for Long. Interesting. Would have brought Hendrick off as he's on a yellow.
Could Quinn look any more like a leprechaun?
Coleman and Keogh getting visibly upset at each other on the pitch after that mix up
We're hoofing it away too much, even when there are players available.
Best piece of skill in the whole match. :(
Wow, super goal.
Shiiit
yes great goal - worthy of a winner
Keano on.
We suck.
Looked like a great dive from Keogh
Irritating thing about modern football #143 - the man of the match has to be from your team. Heaven forbid an opposition player get it.
Aargh!
We were muck
Well first time I get to watch Ireland in HD and they lose! It sucks!
Let's face it we didn't deserve any better. Mediocre all round at best.
That was a joke - O'neill set up that team to just get a draw and he deserved what he got - nothing!
McGready did nothing all game! - we miss Whelan in the midfield as we totally lost the middle of the park.
Now the pressure is all on us - I cant see us beating Poland in March and we have to!
ah feck it
That's more or less cancelled out the good result in Germany, or more. Very few positives to take from that, except we now known Keogh can step up in a competitive match. Tactically, though, we were outdone and they look a much better-coached side than us and they played the occasion much better.
We made Mulgrew look like Xavi.
If anything that really proved that 2 in the middle is pretty much redundant in international football.
Poland and Germany will ease to qualification I think. Even though Germany are still flattering to deceive (4-0 against Gibraltar only)
Great result for Poland tonight.
Between us and Scotland for third. And I think the Scots have the edge. They're just one campaign further down the rebuilding trail than we are.
Yeah, we really missed Whelan, didn't we. What a statement. You can't be serious.
We were poor all round as a team and could not string two passes together in their half.
Scotland far the better team. Held the ball, played with purpose. Didn't hoof it long like us (with a few exceptions).
Disaster for the goal. Hendrick was sold a dummy, Ward stood off the shot. And that's what you get.
But in all honesty, Scotland were the better team.
And McGeady did quite a bit in an attacking sense, but not enough obviously. But to say he did nothing.......
I just see Ireland regressing more and more, while previously insignificant countries on the European stage eclipse us.
"We know that Keogh can step up in a competitive match"
Step up to what - buy drinks at the bar in the players' lounge?
He is not of international standard at all. He is a free kick waiting to happen and 90 per cent of his passes were from his own penalty box into Scotland's.
Do you really think we should bring him to France, that is if we make it?
Really poor stuff. Hate when we make subs and you see Walters isolated on his own, you can pretty much guarantee we will be completely under the cosh. Was glad to see Brady come on but we had regressed into our shell completely. When you are defending as much as we were you will give up chances. The goal was poor but it should have come earlier. The whole incident came about due to Jeff Hendrick's stupidity. Really after the goal apart from right at the death Scotland were extremely comfortable.
Uphill struggle from here on in just for 3rd. Wins over Poland and Scotland at home now essential.
Even with losing tonight its looking good for NI with Faroes winning in Greece who look to have imploded completely since the World Cup.
We've been a bit unlucky with the group but unfortunately we are the 4th best team in this group.
Keogh is simply not up to the standard we need. We really missed Wilson, McCarthy and Whelan today.
