If its a case Keane is moving, for whatever reason, I think Villa could be about the best move realistically available to him. He'd be by no means assured of a start every game at Villa either.

Depends what you are looking for. If it's a big target man with physical presence it's Carew. If not it's Keane.
Villa on paper anyway would not be a bad move for him as Spurs and Villa are more or less at the same level so it would be a move sideways really rather than down for him.
Can't believe the way Harry Redknapp has treated poor Robbie. Playing him on the left, leaving him on the bench and taking him off in games.
 cos he has been completley gash this year maybe.......!!
And people mooting Villa....on what planet do ye see him getting a game at Villa??!!! Ahead of who?? Agbonlahor? Young? Milner? I think not!!!
MON always goes with one big one small, Robbie aint big and he aint gonna get a game ahead of the 3 i mentioned!
Just as long as he stays clear of Celtic.
Benitiz saw the writing on the wall last season....
Flashforward four/five months when Keane has scored a hattrick or goals in consecutive games and everyone is praising him once again. Check out the Robbie Keane thread for proof of this trend throughout his whole career.
No doubt if yap is still around here by then he will still have found some obscure reason why keane isnt good enough.
No doubt he will possibly score a hat-trick at whatever club he's at in the future, that's a no brainer.. he does have a burst now and then but his consistency is the problem!!
While I think you have somewhat reasonable basis for your point re consistency, have a look at the following facts:
Wolves
97/98 11 goals, 4 (Goals/games ratio)
98/99 16 goals, 2.43
Coventry
99/00 12 goals, 2.8
Leeds
00/01 9 goals, 2.22
01/02 9 goals, 3.66
Spurs
02/03 13 goals, 2.46
03/04 16 goals, 2.56
04/05 17 goals, 2.64
06/07 16 goals, 2.38
07/08 22 goals, 2.0
Pool/Spurs
08/09 12 goals, 3.5
I think its safe to argue his time at spurs have been nothing but consistent with the exception of the last 12 months. In fact, with the exception of one season in Leeds, he has maintained a very consistent goals to games ratio since his latter Wolves days.
yapster you've made your point so leave it at that
I think Keane would be able to play equally well alongside a target man, like a Heskey or Carew or alongisde a quicker player like Agbonlahor, but if the rumours that Heskey is moving are true there is no way Carew will go too.
