Well... I spent a week in Canada and I'm flying out of Seattle to New York on Monday.

I'm moving to Canada next year so I reckon I'll be good. :-)

Just after watching that american Man V Food show, couldn't help but wonder if there is any equilivant eateries here in Ireland with similar "food challenges"? Not that I'd be any good, asking for a "little bit of everything" at sunday carvery is extremely hardcore for me!

i scored a goal from 37 yards last night - absolute screamer into the top corner. I wish a camera had been there to capture it. I got the ball from our LB on the left side of centre midfield and turned, beat one player and took a couple of touches. It just seemed to open up and ask for a shot - it flew like a laser and rising and curling away from the keeper into the top right corner off the post in the last few yards. It couldnt have been any better if i had tried.

Funnily enough it was on the same pitch that I suffered a heart attack on last year almost exactly a year to the day. It was the first time id played on the pitch since. Felt good. :)

I was wondering was there something sectarian for a moment - I read R/C as R.C.

On another topic, they keep replaying some african rower here. I didn't find it funny, not like Eric the Eel's near death experience.

Both teams were as bad as each other. Ref was atrocious. I think he spent the second half making up for the poxy decisions he made against us in the first. Unacceptable. He could teach Martin Sludden a thing or two.

No, just really needed an ice cream. Yesterday it was 40 degrees in Moscow. Which basically means 40, plus 80% humidity, plus destructive air pollution, plus grumpy people. Lovely hurling!

So, I decide to stick a few quid on Live bets in world football. Decided I'd stick a few quid on this Chilean Premier League team called O'Higgins FC (why not with a name like that).
I got to thinking, and googled the team.

Turns out they are named after Bernardo O'Higgins, the man who essentially won Chile their Independence from Spanish Empire and was the first leader of Independent Chile.

His father was Ambrosio O'Higgins, who was Governor of Chile in the late 1700's, was in fact, born and raised in the townland of Ballynary in County Sligo.

Random fact of the day.

Potential friendly there for Sligo Rovers surely?

Knew all about the man and the team. Have a mad fascination with Irish figures such as him and Guillermo (William) Brown from Foxford, Co Mayo who founded the Argentine Navy.

Moving in 2 weeks myself. Be glad to get out of an apartment overlooking the busiest and noisiest part of Letterkenny and into a nice quiet housing estate on the outskirts of the town centre. More room and a garden for my dog. It's all looking up.
Although I'm going to be flat broke for a while.

There is a plaque by the river in Sligo about them. The started the banking system over there as well.

Definite potential for a friendly with them, would be great to see it.
