anyone going to the game should nip into town and buy some of those face masks - it'd be funny to see a load of irish supporters wearing them if Kilbane is playing with one.

Do we all know the words of Phantom of the Opera?
Or we could just air guitar Iron Maidens Phantom of the Opera? (non metallers will know it as the lucosade ad from their childhood that had Daley Thompson in it)
Weather outlook has slightly improved

For everyone arriving into Hahn tomorrow and thinking of getting the 13.00hrs bus to Mainz, its €11 a head but on this page HERE It says that there is a group tariff for groups of 10+ so should we organise it that we'll all lump in together as a group and get the weekend off to a cracking start!
Two of us travelling so makes seven. Mightn't be much of a discount but every lil helps towards the beer fund :D
Can anybody give an update on what the ticket situation is at the moment in Mainz as we wont get there until 1pm tomorrow? I just want to make sure there will still be some on sale tomorrow and that touts havent gone and bought them all.
Got tickets at the Mainz 05 fanshop at 4:30 today. They said sales were slow. Only about 20 people in line. Should be loads available tomorrow.
class atmosphere at the game have to say, will get me pics/videoclips up eventually
Yeah i agree these have been the best trips in a long time for singing and atmosphere at games. All the people who want to sing, sitting together or that should be standing.
Mainz especially was quality alright. Did our best in Montenegro also.
Fair play all involved and especially me, cos I have a bodhran and am therefore more significant than the rest of yiz :D ;)
neil and beavis yis survived also :D
Have to agree this was the best "Double -Header" trip for atmosphere at both matches......I have only just recovered my voice ( sadly cannot say the same for my 'phone, which is probably being well looked after by a nice German in Mainz!);)
brill atmosphere, i ended up dosed with flu on way home, all weekend dying, blaming the air con in monty, then going out in the heat. hope the rest of the trips will be as good :D
yeah it was quality alright, best trip.the atmosphere in mainz was savage..remember aido ms attempt at directing the tony o 'd link up outside the porter house? absolutely hilarious so it was..are you Charlie Bird in Disguise!!!
True that. During both matches, it was often remarked that even though there was only about 2,000-4,000 of us, the atmosphere was way better than at Croker. When the prawn sandwich brigade and day-trippers go to the Italy game next April, will they please join in.
I have only just recovered my voice ( sadly cannot say the same for my 'phone, which is probably being well looked after by a nice German in Mainz!
Anybody want to buy a good second hand Phone with good ringing tone.
Watford Watford who the F--k are Watford
:D Sligo H have you watched eircom.net
i am dying in work today, sound like frank butcher. Had a student offer me his inhaler cos i was coughing so much! Have been dosed with flu since coming back, fecking air con/heat outside. Not the boozing of course :D
Bear 11 hope you've recovered from your shenigans?
neil we're only engaged....don't use the W word yet.
yeah sligo h near died when i saw that flag dropping in too!
i can beat that...another student today, had problems viewing the timetable online....he blurted out to me really loud in front of other people "I don't know what the problem is, I just couldn't get it up, I just couldn't"
Sweet jesus, i was in tears, poor lad was mortified when he copped on what he said:eek::D
It's a little bit late, but I've found this thread only now: I want to say, it was a fantastic atmosphere in Mainz! Great irish fans. So loud, so funny, so peaceful, friendly (and so drunken :D ). Absolutely great support for Ireland! I think nearly 3.500 irish fans was in the stadium. They sang 90 minutes - that was f***ing brilliant!
So I was absolutely remunerated for the long journey to the match (13 hours from Rostock by train - and the same back). :)
Did any of you lot join in the Georgian protest march up to the stadium. I know it was a serious matter for the Georgians but we had a good laugh and the georgians really appreciated the fact we joined them. The german cops found it amusing to see a group of well oiled Paddy's chanting 'Russia go home':)
I would have joined the protest in support of Russia but it may not have gone down well.
