Im fuming over this. I just dont trust anything out of the clubs mouths these days. Bet you Stephen Henderson is going mad over that tweet being announced.

Sounds like Longford havea media officer that is desperate to make their mark and;or over enthusiastic.
I'm surprised this type of nonsense doesn't happen more in the LOI with so many 'announcements' before any official registration forms are completed. Shels got sort of stung like this last season on the WNL team with Abbie Larkin but that was about 10 days later before the change of mind announcement and then the signing for Rovers
With Hand I'm taking a guess Longford jumped the gun without any solid commitment from the player and he gave the biggest FU back signing for their biggest rivals who he probably already had an offer from or Athlone just threw a better wage at him after his Longford accouchement? I hope the full story comes out!
Quite pleased with the Bolger signing. Appreciate what some Cork fans are saying to the contrary but I feel like even he's not a top player he's the kind of profile we needed to better balance the squad. Lennon was the only player who is a natural sitting midfielder in the squad, so having someone who could play with or instead of him was important which Bolger can do. He's also quite tidy on the ball which along with Brandon Kavanagh will be an improvement for us on that front as for all the good Daly did we could be quite rushed and loose in possession at times.
Assuming Murphy leaves I would still like another body in that area of the pitch though. Could potentially do with a bit more general physicality in the squad right now but otherwise looking pretty good this early into the off-season.
Gary Hunt appointed as the new manager of Cobh Ramblers.
Glenavon have again dipped into the League of Ireland transfer market with a trio of signings, announced yesterday - Mark Byrne from Dundalk, Darren Clarke from Galway United, and Gavin Hodgins on loan from Shelbourne.
It looks like Byrne will be replacing Rory Brown as no.1 goalkeeper, as he has submitted a transfer request. Derry City look to be the likely suitors, especially if Brian Maher is attracting interest elsewhere.
I thought I was going mad there yesterday. I was just going through our squad for next season and was wondering where the tweet about Dylan Hand re-signing was. I then seen the Oisin Hand re-signing and thought I had mixed the lads up. The lad running our social media is making a show of the club for the last year or two. He should give it up and go all in on the politics where his bulls*it will be accepted by his cronies!!

Brilliant news.
Andy Spain now official:

Thats exactly my thoughts. If they arent careful a lot of my pals are not going to renew their season tickets either at this fiasco or at my mistreatment. I even have an ex RTE correspondent whos son whos a big town fan supporting me in my stance against the club. They may take they are winning the battle for now but its more long term this. They are messing with the wrong person here! Outspoken is turning into misspoken now hes gone quiet!
Forrestor, Lennon, Leavy, Bolger, McClelland is not too bad (assuming McCormack and Murphy go) but I agree, a strong physical player would be a good addition. I would have put Bolger as more of a ball playing centre mid. If we can get Dean Lyness to stay I think that would be massive for us. Probably need cover at left back too. Maybe there are some more kids to come through from the under 19’s. All in all I think our squad is looking pretty decent. Enough to push for the title, probably not (though you never know.) I’d be expecting Europe again though Am getting quite used to these cup wins too.
Evan McLaughlin signed for Cork City, even at this early stage you’d feel everyone else is playing for second place,McLaughlin is too good for the First division imo …..
Ronan Finn on his own would win the First Division by 20 points :p
Evan Osam to Bray from UCD. Very injury prone, solid 1st Div player
Yeah Bolger's strengths are definitely in possession, but he at least plays deeper in midfield which of the existing squad only Lennon really does naturally, so it was definitely needed to get at least another in that position. This is basically a direct replacement for Timmermans and I think we're the better for it, but assuming Murphy leaves it wouldn't hurt to have another in, though as you say if we're talking squad-fillers then the 19s have done an able job of that so who knows. Outside of that I'd say we're a starting keeper, possible starting centre back and further cover at CB/LB away from being done which is quite encouraging. Would still fancy Rovers and Derry to be stronger mind.
Conor Keeley signing for Pats, turned down Dundalk and the chance to stay at Drogheda…
keeley is a cracker of a signing for pats. aerial monster.
Good quality options at the back now with him, Redmond and Grivosti (when he returns from injury) to choose from
Very strong team at Pats now. I'd have them above Derry in the pecking order and, unless we add at least 3 players, very serious contenders. Midfield is stellar and Redmond is in the top 4 defenders in the league. Bolger is a lovely backup option. Hearing Maher might replace Lyness?
Pat’s doing good business. Think they’ll be Top 2 next season.
Darragh Leahy signing for Waterford…
Gregg Slogget rumoured to be in Linfield’s crosshairs aswell….
Yeah completely agree. They've bought well it would appear.
I always liked bolger as a player at Rovers, but he never really pushed on -He clearly has something about him tho.
Keating could really gel and become the 20 goal a season striker everyone looks for or he could turn into another pats-era Eoin Doyle and founder -if it's the former Pats could really challenge Rovers.
It's all gone quiet at Derry it seems, after all the initial excitement about the billionaire owner and big plans for the title challenge-Is their sticking point the guy in the dugout?
From a Rovers perspective it would appear we are content with what we have ,save for a few cheap deals for squad numbers by the looks of it.
Talk of Darragh Burns coming to Rovers is encouraging, especially with the subsequent offsetting of burt who has not impressed to any degree
I wouldn't be getting madly carried away with Pats signings unless you are convinced Daly is an exceptionally talented coach that he will take those signings up a level next season
Keating and Keeley are coming off a track record of one solid season Premier Division level with quite patchy careers before 2023, the two Kavanagh's were not wanted by Derry and Bolger struggled last season not exactly being missed by Cork fans either. They've lost Doyle, Carty a loanee, likely to lose Curtis and possibly Murphy
Few Maher rumours floating around Derry, but they all seemed to start after Tadhg Ryan did the photoshoot for the new jersey rather than Maher.
Maher was unavailable for family reasons, so maybe too much being read into it?
Would another LoI team pay a fee for him, or just wait and year and get him for nothing?
I'll eat my hat if keating does well for Pats. Think he'll struggle if hes expected to play against low lying defences, hes poor with his back to goal.
B.Kav is a cracker of a get IMO. Bolger surely only a depth option aswell. Lennon one of the best mids in league last year, couldnt believe how good hes after getting.
I'd still expect Rovers and Derry to finish above us as injuries permitting both sides are stronger already, but I don't think there's any disputing Pats have done a great job in the window so far. Particularly as there's now less movement between clubs than ever with more secure contracts in place.
I'm wary of Keating not repeating his form from last year, but ultimately we has quite inconsistent young strikers that I'd be surprised if he wasn't at least an improvement on. Really happy with Keeley, he got rave reviews last season after similar up North, and he and Redmond looks a formidable partnership at CB. Don't really care that Kavangh wasn't a starter for Derry, still clearly a quality player at this level and more importantly offers Pats more quality and composure in possession that they often lacked, I think he brings a much better balance to us so will just be more important than he was to Derry.
Bolger and Cian Kavanagh will likely be squad depth, but happy with them providing that. More than any other departures it's Lyness that needs addressing most now, and either getting him back or replacing him ably.
Yeah he was with Harps for 3 loans spells, 2 in first division and 1 in Premier. Did well for us in First Division but seemed to struggle to make an impact whilst we were in the Premier. Granted the was several seasons ago now so maybe he has maturedQuote:

Kieron Cruise and Freddie Turley sign for Bray from Rovers. (Turley on loan) great young players looking for game time
Karl Chambers has resigned for us from Wexford.
Am I right that these Rovers players are out of contract and still not yet re-signed? Lopes, Grace, O'Neill, Farrugia, Watts, Kavanagh, Greene
Not 100% but I think all of these are resigned. The people that were leaving have been announced
Yeah I think Dan McDonnell said towards the end of last season that the only major uncontracted players (aside from Mannus/Finn/loanees) was Gaffney and Byrne who have since signed new contracts
