With all games played on a Friday night like last night, there is no Saturday night game for those with a season pass, or those who might pay 7 euro for a high profile game. If clubs want to build a product that attracts TV revenue, they might have to be willing to invest in some staggered kick offs. Otherwise things will stay as they are.
no sign of the First Division games on the FAI youtube channel this week? I wonder if that was just a one-off to start the season. (The PD games were all uploaded Friday evening/Saturday morning)
From the first weekend it seems the Premier Division highlights will be made available early. First Division goals will probably appear today or tomorrow.
It was outside the shaggin box ;)
The likes of ourselves and Galway should be using a proper cameraman and not that horrific AI ******! the quality of highlights from Wexford and Athlone are vastly superior f or instance.
Athlone and Longford put on excellent productions, put most other clubs in the league to shame......
Yes, I quite enjoyed Athlone's coverage last week. The Harps stream on the opening day was embarassing and unwatchable. Pixellot streams are a hard slog at the best of times but the camera angle and lack of commentary (a technical issue by all accounts) did not help matters.
I'm constantly saying this, how on earth can clubs like Longford and Athlone put on vastly superior products to clubs like Galway and Waterford, clubs that are full time and are in cities with any amount of access to talented young students etc. It's pure and utter laziness
Pixellot is a nightmare, but it's better than nothing at all. Clubs like Waterford and Galway with big resources have no excuse for using it over paying for streaming, but Harps just don't have the money to pay a company to do it. Fair play to the likes of Longford doing it on a voluntary basis, but difficult for everyone to do it that way.
Students were approached, ATU Donegal was approached.
There's f*ck all money for signings too. We have no money after it was all p!ssed away last year.
Actual playing budget is a third of what it was last year. Total budget including playing/coaching and all associated extras is less than half of last year's budget.
Heard similar misconceptions around Athlone last Friday night that we're a big budget full time side. Could only laugh.
