Great night for League of Ireland. Congratulations to Rovers and as for the so called big Scottish Football Teams :laugh::loser:
Hard to know what to say, won't sink in for a while yet. It does feel like quite a cathartic moment given what we have put up with as LOI-fans. RTE's decision not to show it for instance. It's some solace to know they missed one of the biggest moments in Irish football history.
For all the people that put the League of Ireland down. For all the people that tell you "I wouldn't watch that ****e". For all the people that walk about in foreign tops talking about "we" and "us". For all the Oirish clowns that turn up on SSN on a regular basis.
This night is wasted on you.
This is a night for people who do 10,000 miles a year on the road watching their team. People that beg, borrow and steal days off to go to games.
This is for people who travel to ****holes, to be looked at is as you have leprosy when you tell them you are going to a League of Ireland game. This is for people who bust their balls running raffles, selling tickets, writing programmes and keeping the game alive in this country.
This is for the likes of Buzz, Ash, Fergus and all the Hoops I know. But also, this is for people who sweat blood and tears for Irish football, against a tsunamni of negative. This is a night for Rovers. But this is a night for people who put money and their souls into Irish football, into the League of Ireland.
Great result and congrats, the money they make from the group stage will give them the funds to rule the league above other clubs for some time.
Also agree with this. Huge result. Congratulations to Rovers. They deserved it. Missed the first half hour cos I didn't realise it was on TV. Turned on just before Partizan scored. Great effort by Rovers in the second half. They were a credit to the league. Wish it had been Pats, but still, well done.Quote:

The breakthrough has been made. Think it was only half a point for the co-efficient but they got a bonus point for making the group stages. Even as a Bohs fan I have to admit it was an impressive result

All along we've been saying that we just needed to get that bit of luck in Europe- I think tonight Rovers got about 5 years of good luck.*

Amazing amazing stuff. A game changer for all of us. It's up to the rest of us to raise our game. Rovers still won't be able to put more than 11 players on the pitch and they now have to play another 4 games in Europe before the end of the LoI season, which is a great boost to Sligo and Derry in their chase for the title.
Hurray for rovers, hurray for co efficient, hurray for the league, now does tallagh qualify for group games or will they be playing in the aviva?
I wonder did Real Madrid, Espanyol, Athletic Bilbao fans etc. sob with joyous emotion when Barca won the Champions League? :roll:
