Poor enough game but scored yet again. Great header and never took his eye off the ball even though he knew he'd be clattered by the keeper.

Quiet performance but what is Keane there for, to score goals. 40 at this stage, what a legend, we'd be lost without him. What is it they often say about great strikers, that you barely know they are on the field for the 90 mins but the one chance they get, bang goal.Quote:

Not only did he score the vital goal (yet again) but I thought his link-up play wasn't bad considering just how much ball was being lumped up the pitch towards him which he could do little with. One lovely turn on the edge of the box in second half, and then a terrific downward header for Whelan's effort.
Also, I think Robbie's goal last night takes him to joint 3rd in the scorers chart, along with Soren Larsen, Wayne Rooney, David Villa and Blaise N'Kofo of Switzerland.

One word to sum up the lad. I had a feeling last night would be comfortable. It was anything but. What a cross by Duff and so well taken by Robbie.

I haven't been his biggest fan over the years, but he did very well on scraps last night and he never let his head drop which has sometimes been a problem in the past.
Thought he tried too many little flicks at times rather than getting a hold of the ball and being strong, but as has been said we'd be lost without him.40 goals at international level is sensational, especially when u consider what our record was before he came along.He has a lovely habit of popping up with a goal when we need it most
seems to be the theme of this campaign, where keane is atrocious in general play and still manages to get goals...fair play to him...but man of the match...what???
his best game play wise was montenegro away...every game he scored in in he was having a howler..but hats of he is a legend..40 goals for ireland ..terrific stuff

shouldn't be captain, but will probably go down in history as the best striker we've ever had, nobody comes close in my opinion. keep it up robbie. he always gives 100% in every game. if he got injured we wouldn't qualifyQuote:
