With regard to his performances during this campaign the goals obviously speak for themselves. However, I do think it is harsh to criticise him too much in a game like last night's where long high balls were being thrown up to Kevin Doyle and himself. Robbie has never been a target man of that type - he's a player who thrives on the ball being played into his feet and like any other striker he can only perform if he is given decent service.
Look back at the game in Bari in April - for my money he was the most influential player on the pitch, especially when he was pulled back into midfield - collecting the ball from the defence and trying to create openings in the packed Italian defence.
