Was at the game and lisselton should have won by 4 or 5 and have to work on their finishing. With 2 Irish junior internationals james sugrue and steven o mahony along with quality players who have LOI experience they should not be over looked.

Agreed that Lisselton have improved from last year but for me they have alot to prove as domestically in Kerry they have never even won the league so tipping them for the FAI j/c is a step too far for them in my opinion.
However its great to see 4 kerry teams get into the last 64 (first time this has ever happened), testimony that the kerry league is getting highly competitive)
Whilst I appreciate your comments from the Town side of things, I too was at the game, from a neutral point of view. This is the first game I have seen this season as I am only back from my travels ( is wish i was back in the sunshine)
Your “thug” comments are a bit over the top really aren’t they, did you actually miss the initial incident that happened to spark all this off  !! Mr. Scully no less should have seen red even before O’Grady, I do agree O’Grady deserved to go without a doubt, but in fairness he shouldn’t have been the only one ! There was a lot of “cheap shots from behind” from both teams; you only seemed to catch the O’Grady one? As for kicking him in the head and stomach, god bless your eyesight coz there was 6 players around O’Grady a split sec after barnes fell on the gound. I think his own players could have stepped on him making a run for O’Grady.
The standard of referring in TSDL is still as poor as ever, one red card in a disgraceful incident like that from both teams..and in front of what seemed to be a lot of young kids watching the game. Some things don’t change in the TSDL.
There was no flow to the game at all; every challenge seemed to be a free-kick on both sides. Town dominated but just couldn’t put away their chances. Peake had only 3 or 4 chances in the whole game. Peake team look very poor compared to last year, didn’t recognise most of their players, but they held on with 10 men and I think Town were worried. We’re lucky it didn’t go into penos, we’d have to get the flash lights out !
A lot of improvement needed from Town if they are to feature in the latter stages of the FAI this year, the one trophy that seems to elude them every year.
The thug reference is wholly appropriate in this incidence. What else would you call someone who kicks a player in the head when he's on the ground?????? As for my eyesight- I suggest you vist your own optician as the incident was witnessed by everyone within 30 yards including the linesman. Hopefully the ref submits a damming report and the cowardly thug recieves a fitting punishment. What started the row was the Peake no.4 pushing T.Scully into the Peake no. 5 and the no.5 going down as if the gunman from the grassy knoll had come out of retirement.
I too was at the game and you're right saying that O'Grady deserve to go but your comments that he kicked him in the head and stomach are way off!! As is stated already o'grady hit barnes but theres no way in hell that he got the time to take two kicks at him...one to the head and one to the body!! Thats crazy talk in my opinion!
Pike Rovers for the FAI,get yer bets on now in Paddies,33/1 !!!CERTS!!!
I was also at the peake game yesterday , like it was quoted earlier they had a game plan and it very nearly worked, the goal in the first minute galavanised the team and they sat in their own box for the rest of the game. had Redser scored and not hit the post at one nil up it would have been all over for town for another year but luck would have it the ball came back off the post. The account of how the row kickef off is accurate Scully never raised his hadn to nayone but was pushed by another peake player then it all kickef off. Just when things chad calmed Redser "decked" barnes and di throw a kick at him but i from what i saw it didn't make much connection howver the linesman was right on hand and he had to go!! It seems lick was on the side on alot of the bigger names yesterday. Town have actually added one or two more players to their side from last year without loosing anyone important really they have some excellent young players coming through and are a pacey and fast team this year much quicker than in recent years. Moroney was a huge loss for the game i presume he was injured would surley have bagged a couple and was sorely missed! Roll on the open draw should be some interesting ties with so many good teams left in the competition.
Town need to tighten up at the back if they are to have any chance of winning the FAI. Next Sunday is another huge test vs Michael's in MJC
I was listening to TIPP FM lasty night, Town's PRO M Walsh never mentioned the row, to be fair to him he was never asked about it nor was Martin Quinlivan. However I thought he would have mentioned it.
I not a big fan of Mr Walsh's, since the whole Pike affair, for which he was responsable for but what I will say he is an excellent radio analyst on all sports. Just wish he would stick to that
Anyone got the betting odds for the teams left? Would be funny to see..
Well we’ll beg to differ on the “wholly appropriate” thug reference on this one. I’m still of the opinion of the “kick in the head” is way over stated (but everyone has their own opinion).… As regards the ref submitting a damming report, if he’s reffing of the game is anything to go by Mr. Freigburgs reports will probably be wrote it up in crayolas !! I’m not even going to start on the no 4 pushed Tony Scully thing…obviously your optician gave you rose tinted glasses ….I’ll leave it at that…
Open draw is meant to be on tomorrow evening, interesting to see the next fixture !
Maybe you missed the other poster who verified that the "kick in the head and stomach" was way off, maybe I was wrong saying "Rose tinted glasses" it should be more like "blinkers" :D....See...everyone has their own opinion.....
At the end of the day, handbag stuff happens every weekend, every league, every cup competition...Off the ball stuff happens as well, everyone has their own opinion of what "they" saw be it "rose tinted glasses" or "welding goggles"....sher can't we all remember the handbag stuff and off the ball punching in the jansboro game last year....I wonder were posters looking for a "damning" ref report last year....
Looking at the TSDL fixtures I see a re-run of Sunday last's fixture down for two weeks time....Should be interesting....again...Must bring my walking stick to that one...coz clearly I'm blind
why does the FAI Junior Cup thread always desend into name calling and slagging?
who is doing the betting on the fai junior cup? do you have to request the odds in paddy powers at the counter or what coz i cant find them anywhere online
