Lads, I'm gonna be in Budapest the day this game is on. Reckon if we turned up at the gate and attempted to get a ticket we'd get in?
Guys, new to this site but thought I'd let you know that there is tickets for the slovakia v Ireland game on sale online at http://www.ticketportal.sk/. Sorry if someone put that link up already. Tickets are 500Sk, 1000SK or 1500SK, which works out at 15euros, 30euros or 45 euros. You're in with the home fans and you have to send them to a Slovak address though so I've sent them to our apartment letting agents. You have to have a bit of faith in that I guess but it's better than paying rip off prices off a tout.
I put this on the czech republic ticket link too.
Was talking to an Aussie on Saturday night he mentioned how its 31 degrees there and I was telling him I'm heading over to the football in 3 weeks.
He said its grand, parts of it are rough, prostitutes etc., what you'd expect in most cities. Cheap beer, nice scenery and lots of stag parties and all that stuff but generally its fine, not the 'watch your back!!!1!!!1!!!! one!!1!!' stuff from that fella. He musta been doing something!:P
whats that jibberish?
it wasn't meant to be original it was a question. Just a general question is your flat mate hot?! thsee details are always important and i always ask people when they mention a female friend, its worth finding out so you know whether or not you should bother chatting to them :D jokin obviouslly.
Tickets arrived today.:D:D
I got my tickets today as well.
Got some tickets from a mate in Bratislava - no bother, plenty available
anybody got any advice on the cheapest way to get there?
we just booked today with pilgrimsabroad.com! €400 for flights and hotels and transfer between bratislava and prague! flying from manchester. seems to be a great deal!
i read somewhere here b4 that some are going thru poland, can find the posts now, what polich city is nearest? a few days getting warmed up there might be good
someone told me going via frankfurt hahn with ryanair was pretty cheap.
it totalled €80 to get to bratislava (though flights were about 10 hours apart) a few weeks back. dont know what it is now.
lads it would be a mad way of doing it, hahn is really out in the middle of nowhere, but if ye can do it there is a bar not to far from the airport that has a pool table and what not, plus they have savage tunes belting out a la DORO etc. :D
got tickets for both games today cant wait roll on this day fortnight.
Slovakia tickets arrived today!
Still no joy on the Czech front though...anybody seen any Czech websites selling any of their share?
Where is everybody sat? We're in the 'ASL' section seats 39 and 40 (should be right on halfway line).
We did Pilgrims abroad.com and they still have flights and rooms available at a reasonabe rate.... by FAR the best option!
Anyone got a Stadium seating plan for this one just to check out where the tickets are?
Hi there,
Does anyone have any recommendations for accommodation in Bratislave?
I have tried a few apartments, but they are booked out.
Would appreciate your help.
Thanks,
Sean
seanieboy, i was booked into this place but cancelled yesterday:
hotel Baronka however this is about 20 mins from the main square on tram so might not be the best place if just on a wee wee ( p word is blocked ) up, but its very nice from what ive heard.
I am now in hotel incheba, which is £18 for the night for two of us, however we have to share the bathroom with one other crowd in a triple room, but this place is dead centre and only 5 min talk across the bridge and we are in the square and wherever else!
www.pilgrimsabroad.com have rooms in bratislava try them
Check the match thread and the summary threads.
Thread merged.
According to BBC forecast it was 30C in Bratislava today and 25C predicted for Monday week (10 days is as far as it goes).
The shorts are coming out...
Lads is the Slovakia Koruny widely used or is it better to bring euro. also does anyone know the availability of ATM machines? or is johnny cash ur only man!
Bring Euro's or get your money from ATM's.Went to AIB to get Slovak money the other day and they said they didn't do it.
yeah i was told the same in aib, but bank of ireland will order it in for you.
Not to get people too worried but I got the following warning from my cousin living in Slovakia:
1.Avoid police and nightclub staff. Bratislava is NOT a place to get into a situation at night. You can get mugged easily by the bouncers believe me. Old trick your mates get in,someone gets hit and a large drinks bill is presented to you as a way out. Anyway worst case syndrome but it does happen.
2.Take 2900sk (100eur approx) from hole in wall in airport. That will give
you enough loose notes.
3.Taxi to centre should be no more than 900Sk max max.700 is usual.
But the best bits of Slovakia are the food, vbeer and castles. Oh and
people outside Bratislava.Very friendly.
anyone bringing any music in the hope the pubs might play it like irish tunes etc?! Im going to bring a line out and an ipod which has a good few irish tunes on it, in the hope i might persuade some barman to put it through their speaker system ( assuming they have speaker systems :D )
Aidom Does this mean we cannot go to the nightclub in the hotel.
