Few rumours from the Derry Journal; Barry Cotter, Henry Rylah and Shane Duffy.
Henry Rylah coming on loan from Charlton to Derry. Definitely the sort of player LoI clubs should be looking at for loans.
Barry Cotter would be a decent one, even if it's just a short loan.
The Shane Duffy one has been doing the rounds for a couple of years now. I'll believe it when I see it.
Barry Cotter would be a great signing. He was an absolute joy to watch while with Pats when he was last in the league. A really exciting player on the ball
With James McClean at Derry now, and they're realistically short a centre half, you'd think Shane Duffy, at 34 years old, isn't completely out of the question at this point, considering he's only played four games for Norwich this season.
I thought he was great. Really intelligent player who never seems to be in trouble. Other midfielders catch the eye because they look like they do a lot because of all the hustle and bustle they have to do and it looks like they're working hard to dig an opportunity out of nothing. You don't see that with Diallo because it's rarely necessary. He's always in the right place to receive the ball and usually knows where it's going when he does. Gorgeous footballer.
When it's working, he sort of reminds me if Kante at Leicester where you'd be watching a match and you'd swear there's two of him.
I thought Diallo and Winchester was a brilliant pairing. Winchester deep, anyone you like at number 10, and Diallo to make it work.
I agree with a previous comment that Derry didn't always play in a way that made use of his talents.
Ronan Finn departing UCD to take up Director of Football role at Shamrock Rovers, vacated by Stephen McPhail.
McEneff leaving Rovers for the Glens is not one I had on the transfer bingo card.
We need the space. Think he was offered to Pats as part of the Mulraney deal so was expecting him to leave. Glad he ended up leaving the league instead. Absolutely fantastic player in his first spell, probably the best box to box midfielder in Ireland, but never really got back to that level in the second. Hope the move goes well for him.
Derry have signed a Portuguese winger, Kévin dos Santos from Atletico Ottawa.
Complete unknown and very random. Ottawa won the Canadian league last year, if that's anything to go by.
I believe that's our first EU signing since Brexit too.

Feel a bit underwhelmed by that signing, but not sure why. I know nothing about Atletico Ottawa, apart from their awful name, or the Canadian League, but somehow I feel pretty certain that he'll be ****e.
Any Premier & First team squad updates available, with in & outs for 2026! 🤔
Sligo have agreed to sell Owen Elding to Hibs last night according to Jessica Farry in the Independent. Surprised at that one considering the asking price was supposedly set to be over a million, while Hibs transfer record was 700k in 2001 until they signed a lad in July for 1.15-1.20 million.
EDIT: just seeing now that the fee is a six figure sum, with add ons that could see it rise ‘significantly’ whatever amount that is
rise to 7 figures it seemss, Would have kept Longford running for 70 year!
They should have held out for more, much more. He's a real prospect
Bohs sign ex-Dundalk defender Senan Mullen on loan from Torino till the end of the season.
I can understand Sligo letting him go , if you hang on and he runs out of contract or even to where he could sign a pre contract they are risking a lot.
We sold Gavin Bazunu to city for (500k i think if i remember right) but ended up getting best part of 5 million all in.
Plus yopu are only ever one Bad injury away from things going pear shaped as well
He’s in contract until the end of 2027 so they could’ve held out for longer to be fair, the risk of him signing a pre-contract would only come into play in 18 months time. I’m seeing on Twitter that the up front fee is as low as 400k!
I’m aware it’s great to be in a position that we’re calling 400k low these days but with him still having 2 years left on his contract and the Melia and Ozhiavuna fees that feels very low for a player of Elding’s ability
Centre back Senan Mullen joins on a season long loan from Torino, can’t say I’m too familiar with him, but o donnell worked with him at Dundalk.
Adam Brennan linked with a move from UCD to Rovers. We've lost a lot of players over the past year (including the two guys to Hull, both of whom are already involved with their first-team squad). There's some good players coming through, but we may be a bit too raw this year to really challenge for promotion. Suspect it'll be Cork and Bray leading the way this year.
Very good player. Similar mould to Hugh Parker, who's now on the bench for Hull and linked with a move to a League One side to get experience.
Bohs signing Darragh Power from Cheltenham according to the local journalists over there.
Pats have signed ex Leeds striker Ryan Edmondson from Central Coast Mariners in Australia. Won a treble with them a couple of seasons ago scoring a brace and getting MOTM in the final but his goal return throughout his career is poor, averaging a goal every 7 odd games.
On a positive note he is a footballer that has signed for the club which is a big plus considering there literally isn’t enough fit senior outfield players to bring on 5 subs in the opening game of the season next week. Simon Power is out for a few months, Sean Hoare out injured too, Max Mata due to get a scan to reveal the duration of his injury spell, while Aidan Keena went off injured in a friendly today and was wearing a protective boot after the match. Be doing well to see a top 7 finish at this rate…
There wasnt huge fuss made when he was leaving. Recent young lads going or will go you were caught between being glad of the income but weakening the team. Mullen left uncontracted pretty much unnoticed bar by those who watched that years youths that were fiercely unlucky not to have been in Europe. But that doesnt meant he isnt up to LoI anc ould be a good signing.
By the time you can actually post a rumour on this site, the deal has already gone through and they’ve played a handful of games.
Three more exotic signings by harps announced, French attacker Nathan Lumingo, Italian attacker Temiloluwa Ajibola and Portuguese centre back Daniel Lacerda.
