I wonder how many places that will be above Rovers this time.

at this moment in time PS, I'd say one place either way
Not sure where to put this so here will do. If the mods have a better idea then feel free to move it. The most recent ravings of one Roderick Collins including his thoughts on Hoban to Oxford.

Interesting piece from Roddy, and he has been supported on his judgement of the quality on display at the cup final. I was at the game and the fans created a great atmosphere, but the style and skill-level of soccer was not great. Saw a 2nd level Scottish game over the weekend on BBC Alba and the standard was better than our league, although I could see our top teams(4) being able to compete with better fitness etc. Mark Steward who was at Derry was playing for Raith who lost 2 nil to Queen of the South; who are 3rd behind Rangers and ahead of Hibs. Maybe if Pat Fenlon had started off at the level Hibs are at now things would have worked out for him in Scotland.
I take it thats me that you are reading?can i not have an opinion on guys that i have never heard of or seen play.if they were that good why dont ye sign them up in dublin?

Pat Dolan is a media pundit. Why would he go back into management when he's getting well enough paid for his media work.
Damien Richardson just left Drogheda.
Why do people still entertain Roddy Collins?
Keith Long — who should have kept Athlone up — replaces Heary at Dalymount.
The man talks some amount of Brown Stuff, personally I thought Keith did well when he came in and was just a bit unlucky, good luck to the lad with Bohs.
Shoddy is an awful begrudging fuker
Actually, we were relegated in 2008 - so that's the team that took us down.
Yup. Great player on his day. Huge potential. Application may be suspect. Have heard he's the kind of guy who'd turn up to training on the Saturday asking "Wait - did we have a match last night?"
IMHO Roddy is correct in his assessment of Lge2 versus LOI.
LOI Champions would not be in The top 4 of Lge2.
Lge2 Champions would also win LOI
Comparing LOI teams to any level in England is missing the point. It's a different league with a different variance in quality and a different number of games. Of course the LOI champions would struggle to win League Two - they'd need to add 5-10 players to their squad to cope with the workload.
Mark Rossiter announced on Twitter that he's left Dundalk.
Former Limerick goalkeeper Barry Ryan says in an interview in today's Irish Sun that he is meeting with Galway United manager Tommy Dunne next week to discuss a deal.
If an agreement can't be reached he says he will probably retire at 36 after starting a job in Shannon and he has a young family.
Get the white out
Best of luck to barry ryan if he does sign for galway.he will be a big loss for us in limerickfc.
Rory Gaffney gone to Cambridge United. Hope he does well over there.

More like 'Id have fooked off before last game...never been relegated me!'
Has he forgtten that he left Athlone for the job he always wanted? He could have fought galantly against relegation with Athlone rather than dismantling a European qualification squad at Derry and may have even kept his job at Athlone for the season if hed been even remotely better than Cooke.
Best of luck rory.will be hard to replace you.worrying times on shannonside.
Three months till the season starts. 2 confirmed re-signed and another new signing confirmed. Rumoured to be 4 more re-signed. A new signing on the way. We've lost 1 player to England, one to Scotland, one released and one wasn't supposedly going to be re-signed anyway. Hardly that worrying. It wasn't that long ago we would be slapping together a team at the end of February.
It would be nice to have an announcement soon but I certainly would be far from worrying at this stage.
It still doesnt bode well.with rory gone who is going to get goals.its were we struggled a lot for the last few seasons.we have lost one of the leagues best experienced keepers in barry ryan and its no good putting a young inexperienced guy in his place.lee lynch is a loss and shane duggan if he stays along with prince needs help.most of the leagues better players have signed back with their existing clubs or moved elsewhere.what calibre of player is left for us to sign?
It's November. If you're panicked now I fear for you by the end of February!
We will have to wait and see what happens.just worrying with the lack of movement with transfers, all going out and not much coming in.
hopefully Roddy does get back into the league just so he can get battered by the 3 managers he just slated, what a spoofer.
Cobh Ramblers captain Martin Deady signs for Longford. Great player and hope it works out well for him. Will be a big loss to Cobh though
Yeah, announced this evening. Fair play to him for upping sticks and coming to play for us.
Ryan Manning over in England on trial. Couple of premier/ championship clubs mentioned but none confirmed as of yet.
I think Dundalk were also looking at Manning. He could have a decent career ahead of him, very tidy player.
Shane Grimes officially a Dundalk player
We have only Barnett haven't we?
The old GUFC died in 2010 or whenever or do the tribesmen in the west have the same revisionist policy as cork
God, you know you're in the off-season when people start banging on about which club ceased to exist and when. Classic foot.ie

Barry McNamee on trial with Fleetwood Town in League One.
Fabio O'Brien gone to Glenavon apparently. Huge loss for Drogheda even if he is getting on.
