winner alright winner alright westport utd junior cup 2005..........
Leeds United said the same thing before the FA Cup final in 1973 against Sunderland. We all know what happened; Malcolm Allison got the winner for Sunderland in that final. You are getting a little carried away with yourself.Quote:

So if you have any sense run (don't walk) to Ladbrokes and back Westport & Waterford.
But seriously I think Carew will be too strong (Physical) for a light weight Wesport & I just don't rate Waterford Crystal,I saw them against Granville in a few rounds previous and didn't rate them at all , don't know much about Galway hibs but must be better the WC... :ball:
I hear that Waterford Crystal asked Galway Hibs for a change of kick off time as they have a four hour bus trip, Hibs would not accomodate them! Fair play to ya Hibs your such a nice bunch of fella's! (not)

Whats the odds for an all connaught final??
Have to agree with you Terry,If you are serious about winning this you have to take a professional approach. They have to travel the night before.Fail to prepare then prepare to fail ,and all that Roy Keane stuff.Quote:

They are travelling the night before, they requested an earlier Kick Off maybe 12.00-1.00 so they can get home at a respectable timeQuote:

Propaganda.... All of it. Those Galwegians are just jealous.
You really missed the point. The point was the distance to travel, nothing to do with contaminated water or the county being scary looking. The only contaminated water in Mayo is the rain because it never stops. Mayo has some of the most horrible weather in Ireland. Summers rarely exist in the county.Quote:

Two questions to hit the forumites. Was there ever two Connacht sides in the Semi Final of the FAI Junior Cup? Was there a FAI Junior Cup Semi Final without a Dublin Club? My inclination to an answer on both would be no, but can anyone correct me on that?
carew got their game called off today against balla today
Ya carew goty there game called off against balla so we played them instead!!!!
Should be a good game next week in jackman park...carew v westport
Common sense prevailed. :ball:Quote:

Haven't heard any squad rumours from Galway yet.
The First Round of the Carlsberg FAI Senior Cup was drawn this evening and the draw for the junior clubs was as follows:
Mount Merrion V Galway Hibs
St Peters Athlone V Carew Park
Waterford Crystal V Bonagee United
Westport United V Fanad United
Ties to be played W/E 24th April 2005.

Junior Cup draw announced
Clubs from Munster and Connacht will clash in the last four of the FAI Junior Cup after the semi-final draw was made last night.
Packie Bonner and Don Givens oversaw proceedings with Waterford Crystal and Galway Hibs first out.
Waterford Crystal reached the final in 1998 and have an excellent record against Galway teams; disposing of Salthill Devon on two occasions in recent seasons.
In the other semi, Limerick’s Carew Park will be at home to Westport United.
The trophy has resided in Limerick for six of the past eight years, due to the exploits of an all-conquering Fairview Rangers side.
The holders relinquished their crown earlier in the season, although Limerick’s involvement in the last four was assured when Ballynanty were paired with Carew in the previous round.
In last Sunday’s all-Limerick tie a hat-trick from Carew’s Albert Slattery was enough to send them through.
Westport defeated Killester in their last eight match.
The final has been provisionally fixed for May 8 at Turners Cross.
Sunday 27th of March, 2005
Match................................ Home.... Draw... Away
Carew Park vs Westport Utd...6/4........11/5......6/4
Galway Hibs vs Waterford C... 6/4....... 11/5.....6/4
I fancy Westport (they were class against Pike) and a draw after 90 in the other tie.€10 double gives me €80....happy days. :D :ball:
Who are Bonagee United? Where are they from? Is it a euphemism (bone a gee)?Quote:

I am a Limerick man, and would love to see Carew get there.Auld Martin Reddan would have a field day. But hand on heart, I can't see Westport being beaten by them on Sunday. They play summer soccer, and are stepping up on their training the last few weeks since they beat Pike, and I really thought that Pike team was good enough to go on and win it.Westport annhilated them that day, and are getting better. 2-0 to Westport me thinks :( .
Wouldn't really 'support' any Junior clubs, but a mate of mine is managing Pike 'B' and I suppose Pike, partly because of their generosity to Senior soccer these past couple of seasons, would get my vote.
I was involved with a now sadly defunct junior club called Wanderers for many many years...until the corporation built a f***ing golf course on our pitches and put us out of business.....but I'm not bitter.... ;)
if final is on at cross it would be great to see all munster final, crystal versus carew park
Bonagee United are a Donegal side that plays in the Ulster Senior League. I have no idea what part of the county they are from and know nothing else about them.Quote:
