I bet he was a jonny foreigner

How many times did Jeff (when in the dock) just happen to mention in passing that he played football for Ireland, that if he had 1 fit leg he would be chasing Fritz around the pitch and only because he was such a famous footballer in the cause of mother Ireland, that he was here now in the dock facing these petty charges.
think he exercised his right to silence
Then it was the defence counsel on Jeff's behalf, waving the green jersey with gusto.

Nice goal from Henrik!! :p
Well the video is gone now, however it is still in my browser cache, the assist was from Ward, so a a very much made in Ireland goal, nice play from the two of them lovely footwork from Hendrick although in reality he did next to nothing just a bit of a shimmy
the build up to that goal was fantastic, the finish itself was fairly straightforward.
Celtic's opener during the week was a similar goal except the finish came at the far post instead of near the penalty spot
Highlight here, in good quality.

at 1.18 ish.
Note Brady is invoked in the move as well, so very much made in Ireland, pity they can't do that when playing for Ireland!!! :p
Well hopefully thing will gel in the next couple of games, but a nice quality more and goal, hopefully it will help get the confidence back.
Also a bit of nice play from Ward prior to that clearing a goal bound ball, who overtakes Duffy in the stats!!
That is two Irish in the top 50. (43 & 46), oh and Brady bubbling under at no 52!!
Will be interesting to see how Burnley fair this season they are currently 6th.
It is possible they go 3rd if they win their next match and neither Chelsea and Arsenal (they are both away from home).
What odds Champions league football next season?
They are about 100-1 for a top 6 finish and 150-1 to 250-1 for a top 4.
The finish I thought, was superb, simply giving the keeper eyes and not smashing the ball, he sends keeper wrong way, makes Keane close his legs instead of spreading himself and confuses Williams. Works great in training, because make defenders feel stupid but takes nerve to try in a match environment.

I meant the actual final shot was a straightfoward sidefoot. The sidestep, finding space in a crowded area, taking two defenders and Schneiderlin out of it, and wrong footing the goalkeeper was excellent.
I can't see what he actually did with that first touch. Would love to see it from another angle. Looks like it must have been sumptuous from this one.
You can actually slow it down to half speed on that video, not that it helps much, anyhow it looked good cool as a cucumber.
I think basically he let the ball do all the work and took it later than expected and sent the keeper the wrong way.
He seems good at anticipating what other players will do, they expected him to do something but he did next to nothing, very clever!
He has great feet.

Goal tonight v. Newcastle: https://cdn.imgtc.com/uploads/9njNtPXusiC.mp4
Good for his confidence before the Denmark game, he seems be be finding form again this season.
his 30th goal at club level
After both being fairly ineffectual on Tuesday night, Hendrick and Brady have both managed to nab assists in their first half back with their clubs.
Just came across this now, interesting comments from Sean Dyche last month regarding Hendrick's number ten role - http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk...y_s_number_10/
And in that vein, he's just featured in football365's regular feature on "ordinary" players - ordinary being relative, of course.

In short, they reckon he plays an unusual role for Burnley, a high energy role high up the pitch where he hoovers up loose balls and recycles them to more creative players.
That's a really well thought out piece.
It certainly is. Would it be more accurate to call him an enganche rather than the 'Irish trequartista'? A little less mobile laterally, less of a goal threat?
He equalised for Burnley away to Fulham to make it 1-1.
Some very positive comments by Chris Kamara and Michail Antonio on Hendrick's contribution to both of Burnley's goals which were recorded as own goals by Fulham defenders.
Kamara and Antonio reckon the first goal should be credited to Hendrick as his shot had a bit of swerve on it and was on it's way in before Bryan shinned it in.
The second goal was a counter-attack by Burnley and Hendrick received credit for this thanks to a strong run through the middle from deep which carved open the Fulham midfield and defence. Hendrick ends up with the ball in a similar position as he did away to Germany when he assisted O'Shea just outside the left post and he turns onto his right and floats one in which is turned in by Odoi for Fulham and there was no dispute as to how this would be credited.
Big contribution from Jeff and hopefully it kickstarts and sputtering and stuttering season so far.
He's a frustrating player. Has all the attributes but is very hit and miss. Goes missing in games it seems. I was at the Ireland v Belgium game in the Euros and he totally frustrated me that day after playing brilliantly against Sweden. Then he played a great game against Italy. Would love to see some solid consistency in his game.
He gets moved around a lot as well, positionally, which doesn't help. I actually thought he was one of our better players (not saying a lot) in that Belgium game, but he's been lacklustre for us post-Euros.
Great! I take it Long held on to his goal so?
Yeah, that seems to be the case. Looks like the goal is only changed if a club appeals it. I doubt Kasper Schmeichel wants the goal awarded as an OG!
Ah, that makes sense.

The WWF have taken Hendrick goal's off the threatened species list.

View from behind goal is best and side at 20 seconds..
Mick described Jeff as been "brilliant for him so far" is it just me or has he not been **** for 3 years?

Scored a last gasp equaliser yesterday.

The video insert seems to ignore the time stamp, so if you just want Hendrick's goal, see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KzanUTtFiNw&t=0m26s

2:32 for goal.
Note he is involved in the build up.
