I had been under the impression it was a combination of wanting to contribute to their adopted country where they had made good lives and also the competition for a CB spot in the Irish side at the time being greater than that in the English side. I could be remembering wrongly on both of these though.

Cracking record by Madden this season. He's bagged 11 in League One since moving to Yeovil at the start of October. He's just starting his third calendar year in England and things are looking rather more bright for him, in comparison to this time last year. I know Yeovil's finances are highly limited so they must have signed him for a relatively nominal fee. If he keeps this up until the season's end then they'll see quite a rapid return on their investment. He's 23 in March.
