The shed side is a perfect location to build a new stand, the angle would have to be quite high, but there is definitely enough space there. The YDC behind it would box it in nicely.

Cabo having their shindig tonight and announced their 5 year plan and long term goals. Great summary in their PDF, highlight being a stadium/ their own proper facilities in Kilboggan park in conjunction with DLRD CoCo, Seapoint rugby club, the running club and possibly Foxrock/ Cabo GAA club.

I assume that's the strategy that their FAI €5,000 went towards producing.
It's a good document, and perfectly pitched to their main stakeholder group - i.e. the parents of their hundreds of junior players, who probably don't have much empathy with the LOI side yet. Cabo need to get buy-in from everyone at their club for what they're trying to do in the LOI - which Salthill and Mervue never really tried to do - and this is a sensible way of laying out their stall and getting everyone's implicit agreement moving forwards.
That's the problem in CABO the LOI side really don't feel like part of the club and they are trying to make it appear more of a pathway for the kids and make a connection. Lots of talk last night about new u13 and u15 National leagues.
The problem they have is the poor results over the last two years, its hard enough to get people to go to FD games let alone FD games where you are bottom or second bottom. But at least they are trying, if the council ever did build a stadium the number of houses around would almost guarantee a decent turnout if facilities were good
Cabo once again coming across as extremely sensible. Fair play.
That's the problem with these new clubs. No respect for tradition.:D
I have no faith in the future of any club that misspells its own name in the file containing its strategic plan.
Bray do not actually want to leave the Carlisle Grounds after all, even though it's in their 5 year plan.

WTF?
"Oh well if you don't want to refurbish it why don't you sign over the ground to us and we'll take care of it? We have some fine construction people involved"

Not the kind of guy I would like running my club. Seems to have a history of property deals and stadiums.
I would doubt if UCD would let clubs other than UCD train there tbh.
I know Rovers were previously refused permission to play home games there (other than one home game against UCD)
@martinho - they're not saying they want to move to Finglas?
Bray train in Stepaside. Not sure what the Finglas thing is about.
Bray's underage teams train in Stepaside I think. Not the senior team.
They were doing their pre-season in Finglas somewhere as there were no astro pitches availablie closer to Bray... They will be training in Stepaside once the weather improves....
Nice new addition to the Carlisle - App to pre-order your food for halftime!

Can anyone comment on the quality of the new pies in Dalymount last Friday>
I remember somebody saying a few years back that Longford or Athlone or somebody like that were training in UCD. Don't know for definite that they did, maybe it was just a temporary thing or something but I definitely remember hearing some team was training in UCD, how accurate that was I don't know.
Who's doing the pies? I missed this memo.
I've dabbled in their wares. They're grand.
Any sign of a pretender to the MonDog?
The Mon Dog was massively overrated.
Jesus lad, they don't have a club anymore. At least let them have the memory of a hot dog.
I did like the bar they had though so it wasn't all bad.
We spoke about this before, I can't find the thread so this will do. That excellent Documentary by Liam Brady about Dalymount, from at least 3-4 years back. I saw something on Twitter earlier in the week, one of the matches featured was 45 years ago this week. Bohs/drums v Santos.
There is a bit at the start, when Santos come out in their all white and Pele takes centre stage with the team lined up. A piece of music is played, what a tune, it's in Portuguese but I eventually tracked it down if anyone is interested.
Probably as bizarre a post as any, but there you go!

Apologies if some of the Pats lads already mentioned this here, but on MNS the other night it looked like the garish old galvanise shed that covers half of the away end in Richmond park has finally been torn down? Is that right?
Any idea if there are any plans to make further improvements to that end?
That shed used to rock when the Pats fans were in it.

Brandywell stadium works update.
Was in Dalyer on Friday for the Bray game, pies were top notch. €8 for the pie, mash, gravy and mushy peas, can't go wrong at that price and a selection of about 5 different types. Said they were doing good business the first two games of the season anyway so far so hopefully they do well enough to keep it there.
Finally light at the end of the tunnel for Finn Harps.
Stadium set to be completed for 2019 season with two main stands and two stepped terraces either end of the pitch.
....and breathe.
