With the Grattan B team going back, is that not the Castleview 3rd Jnr Team gone? It's like musical chairs with the lesser teams.
It would be great to keep both in the Aul, as it's badly needed, but I don't think B teams are the answer to declining numbers.
Many teams are struggling hard, I'm hearing, including Snr teams all the way to CBL.
Appetite just isn't there anymore and its way to easy to jump ship. Even whole teams are doing it at this stage

Why aren’t B teams good?
I think B teams have a huge part to play.
All sports have clubs with multiple teams.
Proper clubs must offer more than one team you can’t have all these Underage teams and all funnelling into one adult team you simply will lose players that the club will have put 10 plus years of development into to get them to adult level.
It also allows players the opportunity to compete at a level they are suited to.
Singular one off teams that float around for a few years and disappear are not what the AUL needs, it needs consistency.

With 6 weeks to season kicking off, some teams already back training. Any sign of the sections being confirmed? Seems silly that preseason starts and people are trying the pull in players before the league sections are announced, obviously in a league where all new or rejoining teams start at the bottom everyone would already be fully aware of what teams are in their division.
Not knocking the AUL here by the way, last season finished late, next season starts early, there isn`t much breathing space in between for league or clubs.
