Aren't you a GRANVILLE man!!!!!#
-------------------------------------------
Having played against both Star and Granville this season i got to say Granville are the weakest team in the Prem!
well said noddy...Nobody gave fairview a chance against them in the last round and very well nearly beat them..Anything can happen on the day...I think it will come to who wants it more really..Simple as that!!!I'd love to watch that one myself but we will be to busy beating balla....Yes gareth u heard me ....see u sunday pal!!!
we'll see about that Mona
anyone know when the out of town draw is on?
wasnt there a big punch up in this fixture before? it will hardly happen now summerville are gone very soft.i think balla will win handy
ya a couple of years agon in a premier match i think, could have been a cup match though not sure. balla won the fight aswell that day, and it wouldn't be surprised if they win this weekend either. wherever the match is on doesn't really matter as balla's style of play suits both fields.
sville 0 balla 1
pike 1 crew 1
... pike won8-7 on pens
was at the pike match carew dominated the 1st half pike had the better of the 2nd (just) pike keeper made 2 great saves and had 2 goals disallowed carew were exausted 10 mins into 2nd half if carew were a fitter side they would have won
Galway 4th Round results:
Mervue Utd 4-0 Corrib Rangers
Dynamo Blues 2-3 West Utd
St Patrick 1-1 Salthill Devon (St Pats win 5-4 on pens)
Last year's beaten semi-finalists knocked out by team 2nd bottom in First Divison. Mervue could be dangerous now as they are out of contention in the league.
FAI Junior Cup 4th Rd- Limerick Section
Star Rovers 2-0 Herbertstown
Summerville 0-1 Ballynanty
Aisling Annacotty P-P Regional (playing 16/12/07)
Kilmallock 3-0 Athlunkard
Pike Rovers 1-1 Carew Park (AET Pike win 8-7 on pens)
id agree with all of that, carew were the better side overall but their fitness was deplorable. total neutral here but what was with the ref booking all the carew players for anything and none of the Pike players? oneof the offside goals of pike was clearly onside too/

What happened in the Clonmel Town v Peake Villa game that necissatated a 10 minute break in the middle of the second half?
Was it a fight in the second half. Was it dark after extra time. Anyone at it?
and all the other times they threatened were from set pieces as well - very unlike us.
Having said that we were blessed yesterday, carew could have been 3-0 up at half time and even when it went to peno's you'd have banked on gordon to save a couple.
We got some luck yesterday that has deserted us in previous years
Don't think you will see Pike playing as badly as they did yesterday again. At the end of the day they are in the next round and the Carew match will be quickly forgotten. O'Grady was badly missed by Pike also. It's fair to say at this stage of the season Pike would not be considered a front runner for the FAI but maybe that will work in their favour. Still in every Competition and haven't yet started to play well is a nice position to be in though!
very nice position to be in
That's true. in the game against Fairview and Carew yesterday Pike haven't played as well as I've seen them play this season. Carew had a great chance to beat Pike yesterday. Apart from a great clearance off the line in the first half which would have made it 2-0 to carew, they didn't look like scoring after that for the whole game. it was a poor game yesterday but pike in the next round is all that matters. you always need luck to win on penalties and cups
you always need a bit of luck - in 97 when fairview won there first FAI since the 60s they were lucky to beat balla on penalties out in bateman park.Joe Hannon took the 5th penalty and had to score. If he had missed then who is to say what would have happened in the following years.
We can't blame the keeper for that goal..If u were at the game u'd have seen it was freak goal..Frankie went to cross the ball and it just evaded everyone...Most people thought it had gone over...Seen many a goal like that go in in the premier league so keeper can't be blamed..All in all we gave it a go and were disappointed to lose to a goal like that..Best of luck to all limerick teams who got out of town!!
Don't forget Pike had 2 disallowed goals in the second half, one, an offside that was clearly on,and another for a foul on the keeper, that said,we were very unlucky, gordon went the right way for 5 of Pikes' penalties and smackers saved the lucky one. This is the sort of luck that makes a good season..
Also rumour is that Balla will be bringing Pike back out to Bateman next sunday, apparently its "grand" now...
out to bateman. they're running scared already
How are Clonmel Town looking this year? Have they lost many players from last year?
A row broke out after a collision in the penalty area. Lots of players involved but tbh it was handbags- pushing shoving and shaping. The situation had been diffused when redser o grady decked ian barnes with a cheap shot from behind. When barnes was on the ground he kicked him in the head and stomach. O grady is a thug and a coward and his actions yesterday warrant a lengthy suspension. :mad:The match itself was very stop - start with the ref halting play for the softest of challenges. Town conceded early and were always chasing the game from then on. Peake had 3 shots on goal in the entire match- two went in and the other hit the post. Town were literally camped in Peakes penalty box for long periods of time but a combination of poor finishing and last ditch tackles denied them. In fairness to peake they had a gameplan and it almost worked for them. Improvement required from Town.
is that the same redser who plays hurling for tipp
Kenmare(Kerry) 3-2 Bunratty(Clare)
The next round is the open draw isin't that correct, nice for all the remaining teams to get a nice trip out of it.
