D'oh ya forgot all about that.cheers!
Ipswich enquire about St. Ledger
Also interested in Treacy apparently, but face competition from Burnley.
That's what I was thinking too.
I thought one of the newly-promoted sides might take a punt on him but I reckoned that last year too around the same time.
He thinks he's up to the task himself anyway although accepts that his international form has been better than at club level.
Quote:
"The last two seasons I've been inconsistent at club level, but I've found my form for Ireland has always been good," he said. "On a week-to-week basis, it needs to be better. "I want to be playing in Europe, in the Premier League or in one of Europe's top leagues.
"I'd like to think I'm good enough for the Premier League. The boss (at Preston) said we have to make cuts, so I'll just have to see what happens.
Being linked with a move to bookies favourites to go up Leicester according to this http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/in...&#entry1896918
Any truth in it? Do we know?
Doc?
PNE have agreed a fee with Leicester from what ive been told just down to the Saint agreeing to the terms. Think the fee is around £750k- 1m thats a bargain!
I thought there would of been interest from Prem clubs as he is better than some of the players in there.
When you look at how dire Wolves' defending was at times last season, you'd think Mick would take a bite at that price.
Looking more and more like Leicester with a little of the hand of Trap maybe ...

''On the transfer front, the Deepdale exit door seems to be opening for Sean St Ledger as Leicester City step up their interest.
The Foxes have been in contact with North End about the centre-half, and are ready to offer £1.2m.
Former England boss Sven-Goran Eriksson is believed to have spoken with Republic of Ireland coach Giovanni Trapattoni about St Ledger, and the Leicester manager got favourable feedback from the Italian.
At the moment St Ledger is away on holiday which would hold up a deal being completed in the coming days.''
I suppose the transfer fee reflects his season with PNE, out of the first team a lot with injuries and a drop in form.
He could do well with another season in the championship with a promotion ambitious club, to get back on track.
good news for Daniel Devine , he might get a run out
signing confirmed: http://www.lcfc.com/page/LatestNews/...386240,00.html
Leicester also being heavily linked with Reading CB, Matt Mills tonight with an ITK poster on here http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/in...c=74181&st=540 saying it may indeed happen. Mills was probably the best CB in the division last year and had Prem options at Wolves at least (and, indeed, may still end up there) but it does show how highly St Ledger is regarded, or how stiff the competition for a spot will be, or how seriously Leicester are spending, depending on how you chose to look at it I suppose.
Anyway, a good move for him, real chance of being a Prem player in a years time and at a club where the owners are talking big about what will happen once that is achieved.

Top class from The Saint.
Self praise is no praise, Doc. :)
Good move for Sledge, hope to see him further up the ranks in the next couple of years. Great lad for us.
Leicester sign the other CB Matt Mills, rumoured to have beaten Wolves to this lad, and paid near the £5 million mark.

Sean St Ledger has joined a club with promotion very much on the cards. Good luck to him.
Could be premier league bound and coming off the back of an impressive Euro 2012 finals this time next year could Sean. ;)
Really reliable guy for Ireland, best of luck to him.
Very good move for the Doc, I mean Sledge, Leicester do seem to be heading places.
Can only be good for us (even if I wouldn't have him in my first choice XI) the more players we have close to the top flights the better.
Although inconsistent at club level, he has yet to have a bad game for Ireland and looks like he really enjoys wearing the great jersey. Hope his club career kicks on from here.
Starts on the bench for Leicester today in their opening Championship match away to Coventry.
Is Lukas Jutkiewicz in the Coventry line-up up to much? He's eligible for us through his grandmother.
St Ledger didnt make the team for the Reading game today, maybe this is what happens when you play pesky meaningless friendlies for your country, you end up out of your club side and of no use to no one, maybe James Mc Carthy has it all figured out. Still, at least Leicester lost and one of the CB's seems to have had a good chasing and the other one is being linked with Blackburn, theres hope yet.
Meaningless for the likes of the McCarthys of this world, but not for players such as St Ledger who are proud to wear the green shirt.
The game was a good work out for the team ahead of the big qualifiers.
As for Leicester, maybe it was implied to St Ledger that he would start, when he signed and that someone hasnt kept their word.
Think St Ledger will be looking to move if he isnt playing 1st team football in the next few weeks as he wont let anything affect his International career
starting tonight for Leicester against Bristol City
