Old git you are entitled to your opinion but it what it is. Due to the lack of commitment from players. From what I can see clubs are not getting the level of commitment from players that is required to have a successful team and no matter how big a town is unless you get that commitment, it is what it is
honestly I don't know maybe not enough young players coming through and clubs don't give them enough games for junior teams but I also think they are also lacking commitment to clubs and they find it to easy to move from club to club .. so do we dare mention the old theory of to many clubs in Shannon ??Quote:

For whatever reason, football in Shannon seems to be played by lads that just want to play for the social side of it. It doesn't seem to be taken seriously, or lads just don't want to put in the effort that could make them win stuff, and be successful. It's a real shame because potentially there could be a competitive side in Shannon.
if there was only one club maybe with a first team,b,c,etc....filter down the quality! too many clubs in the town for any of them to be successful. Two clubs max! Newmarket are the closest club to winning anything decent in Clare football, and there're still finding it hard to do that!Quote:

Wouldn't you think they would just bite the bullet and ask for imalgimation with shannon town.. hibs are going no where .. no schoolboys after u12s and only 1 junior team.. very sad to see.
It's really a waste of a season..should have put in the request to leave Limerick when they heard Shannon town were going..will it be hard looking for players now that this season means nothing to them..

it was a long time ago newtown were holding their own in clare seem to remember them getting relegated not so long before move to hibs .. Shannon town were up and down from premier to 1a and as for park holding their own in limerick premier league and winning trophies need a good memory for that one ..
