Waterford Crystal won 4-3 on pens last weekend, 1-1 in the game. Does anybody know how Waterford Crystal are doing? I know they got to the final a number of years back but haven't heard anything about them since
I can see what you are saying and agree with some of it, however the match you are referring to was Boro V Freebooters where the boro lost the game through one incident of indiscipline but mainly because of a lack of organisation and obvious to anyone watching no game plan. That and the fact that certain players only started to play when the boro drew level at 1 -1 was enough to see Freebooters through.
Farmer plays with heart - when he plays.
They have beaten Carrick three times this season I think (two cup games and once in the league) and are top of the Waterford Premier Division. They've lost once I think but not sure. They were lucky apparently against Carrick in the FAI Cup and seems have a good mix of younger and more experienced players. Hard to know though, the FAI Cup is a very strange competition - what makes it so interesting I suppose. They should be too strong for Granville.Quote:

I think balla are a match for anyone on there day..I think it will be close ...hopefully Balla will scrape through...could take extra time i reckon though...
I think Ballas lack of pace in the centre of their defence will cost them on Sunday.
I spoke to Aidan Ryan recently & he is well aware that Balla are weak at centre half. Their main threats are set pieces & Skinner who isn't really in the Robbie Kelleher league even though he has scored a few goals this year.
It's got to be Michaels to progress for me.
Watch out for the odd red card aswell if things start to go pear shaped for Balla............the red mist could decend fairly rapid hahahaha!!!
why has this tie taken so long to play when michael's junior international centre half james walsh has been injured before christmas and couldnt play oscar traynor. seems like michaels have pulled a fast one here.
saint michaels are quietly confident of winning this won and theres alot of talk around tipp that this could be there year to win fai outright. Bennis in goal .they have best junior defender in country in walsh with other ex junior international paul tobin also in defence. brendan cronin who they signed from corks greenmount rangers is also doing very well this year in midfield.theyve also just signed Aaron Morooney from carrick the ex clonmel town and waterford united striker is one of best in junior soccer.Balla can beat the saints as they have been beaten twice already in tipp league this season by clonmel celtic and two-mile-borris FC,but saints are really gearing for this so balla will have to produce goods on sunday to get through
Balla win 2-1 with 2 goals in last minutes which both best described as controversial. Free kick awarded to them for the equaliser was a foul the other way and the penalty was a big decision deep into injury time. This would not have been given at the other end. The referee was not exactly a "homer" but I don't believe there was a Balla player booked which says enough as itself !!!
The wind spoiled it but Balla will have to improve to go further in this competition. That being said they are in the next round and that was what they set out to do.
Michaels being out means another top team(they were by far the better team today) are gone and opens up the draw even further!!
Word in the pitch , it was in perfect condition given the amount of rain that fell! Limerick teams march on!!!
Glad to see Balla through but I do not think Balla have a chance of winning the FAI this year. Nice for another Limerick team to be through but I feel Pike on their day would beat Balla comfortably & I would even go so far as to say that Carew Pk would beat Balla if their paths were to cross in the coming rounds of the FAI. It's wide open this year though.
Any View fans out there that can shed some light on the current rumour that Dermot Finnan could be on his way back at the end of the season please speak now!!!
Rumour has it he is showing no interest in his job at the Boro (who look a bad side this year) & with Derek feeling the pressure since going out of the FAI & also the league defeat at the hands of Pike (which leaves the destiny of the premier league very much in Pikes hands) there could some substance to the rumour.......
David Dunphy was booked along with the Michaels full back in the second half, The michaels Full back was sent off for disputing the Peno.Quote:

Dont think Park had a game but not positive.
Poacher - I used be involved with the club but since the idiots have taken over the asylum I have taken a back seat. Tired of watching the "living dead" paddle in their pool of ignorance. Its a pity because that club was once the bench mark for every club in Limerick and now its nothing more than a retirement home. Jaws Ryan supplied the final nail in that coffin but the committee dealt the hammer blow while the players held the nail. Best of luck to the club, they will need it if things keep going the same direction. They will be struggling for a team next season. Jason O Connor, Robert Dalton, Alan Sheehan, Connor Lynch, will probably retire, Mark Houlihan, Brian Lawlor, Alan O'Keefe and Barry Conway will move on also. Shane Madden will go back to the View and like the start of this season the Boro will not be able to field a team. That from a Club that claims to be "a big club" my arse.
what makes you so sure that lawlor, o keeffe, conway and houlihan will move on? madden will be no loss in my opinion, nor will robbie dalton he just seems to be interested in arguing with referees and opposing players, jason o connor will be a massive loss as i think he is on of the best players around
Only two league matches on in town yesterday. Pike beat Summerville 6 - 0(If you are looking for comparisons Sligo1 - Park beat same team 1 - 0 last week!!) and Carew Park beat Hill Celtic 4 - 0 ...Quote:

Wonder will the "home" decisions given to Balla this week work against them next week. Don't know what is in store for you with a trip like that. Good luck to them. Always want to see Ray O'Halloran do well.Quote:

Can anyone tell me, is Joe Normoyle still playing with Pike Rovers

I think Dalton has been a consistent performer in Junior football for a number of years, granted he has the odd spat with referees but who doesn't, as for Madden, he has been slated on this site in the past also which I can't work out. He was a top youth player only a short while ago played really well against the View in the first game of this season also. He's playing out of position this season at right full but still defends well, he is definitely one for the future as at 22 has at least 10 years playing junior football ahead of him if he wishes.
There is talk that O'Keefe, Lawlor & Houlihan could be on their way to Limerick ???
I agree with you about Madden...I think that he is a fine young player and he will get better when he plays in his natural position...I dont really rate dalton as a centre back he is better in the middle in my opinion.I think that he should use himself a bit more also...for such a big lad he doesent play with much aggression.Too busy trying to look the part on the pitch i susoectQuote:

I heard he does endless work behind the scenes in the Boro also, it's easy say he should do this or that but name me one player in Limerick that has skint him regularly??? There won't be many I'd say & I do know the View were chasing him for a few years & he stayed with the Boro even though he knew they were underachievers.
helped put houlihan on what map? and im not houlihans biggest fan but there is no doubt that houlihan is twice the player dalton is and i still think houlihan is way over rated
What I mean is...... this year people know who Houlihan is............Quote:

Still think Dalton is not a bad player & can't help thinking that people on this site slating him is for personal reasons.......everyone knows he is about as popular as Gerry Adams is in Ibrox stadium hahahaha!!!
Ah will you stop.If you dont rate Dalton and Houlihan then you must not rate many ceter halfs in this town. They are 2 of the best.Chucka is streets ahead of the lot in my opinion and after that there is a group of 3 or 4 that are on a par and Dalton and Houlihan are def 2 of those.
chucka miles ahead, enright, hanrahan, heffernan, and i could probably think of a few more if i tried, two very average players in my opinion
Dalton is playing out of position at centre half but it seems the boro cannot get anyone to fill that role. Its a pity really because I would like to see him play more in the middle of the park. He played there 4 times this year and scored twice. One was a cracker from 35 yards out. Not many centre halves could make this conversion and if you list them there are not many around. Watched a good few Boro matches over the years and I have to agree with Blackstripe - i cannot remember any player in town taking Dalton for pace. I do agree however that he should win more ball and is a bit of a shaper.
I think Barry Heff aswell as Chucka are ahead of the rest. I do agree that after that there is a group of about the same standard but I would rate Dalton ahead of Tom Daly & Garret Ryan of Balla aswell as Ronan Hnarahan of Pike........
Heffernan and Enright are good players alright.Enright very good in the air but get him on the ground and a fast player will destroy him. This would not happen Dalton nor Houlihan.Hanrahan??You are joking right - get that man turned facing his own goals and he does not know what to do.Kicks tha ball in to touch all day.As i said if you dont rate Dalton and Houlihan then you must not rate many. Both are very quick very good on the ball and neither of them get skinned - it just dont happen.Surely 2 center halfs that dont get skint to often must be doing something right. The only complaint id have of Dalton is that he should be more commanding in the air.Come on now call a spade a spade like.
dalton doesnt command his own house never mind a defence and houlihan is quick thats it, very poor on the ball and no where near strong enough for centre half in my opinion although i do think he would be a good right full
What do you know about Daltons house. There is no bloody need to get personal. This is about junior soccer - nothing more nothing less. You think he is rubbish and that is your opinion. My opinion is that i think he is a fine player.
it was a smart remark nothing personal take it easy
Bang out of order in my opinion
inexile - i think dalton and houlihan must have given you a good hiding or something in the past. In fact if you are going to slate a player at least get your facts right. Houlihan is not fast, his best attribute is the fact that he is good in the air and wins more than his fair share of ball and his reading of the game is good. His distribution can be poor at times but he is young.
hahahaha!!! Settle down it was a tongue in cheek remark hahahaha!!!Quote:
