Just when we thought all the Sammon puns had been done, today's Independent ran the headline "Sammon scores on return journey" which I thought was quite good.

That's very good in fairness!
Seemed to have to go against a stream of players to do it, too.

Set to join Huddersfield on loan for the rest of the season.

Move to Rotherham confirmed.
Sammon must be tickled pink :)
Not surprised he's moving around so much. I heard he's a bit flaky
Off the mark for Rotherham at home to Bolton. 2-0 up, he's paying for himself already.
Paul Green scored there too.
Well done Sammon, it's been an upstream struggle for him but he seems to have turned it around.
He's been a great catch for Rotherham.
Liverpool fans everywhere scratching their heads.
Anyone see Sammon's pass in the build up to Derbyshire's goal for Rotherham this afternoon?
Hoolahan would've been proud.
Returns to Derby to aid their playoff push and he's on the bench today at Huddersfield.
Loan spell at relegation threatened Rotherham ended by mutual consent. I find that odd. He looked good and scored as much goals as he could have been reasonably expected to score, with his record.
Sammon has a chance to write himself in Derby folklore. He makes a shock start against Millwall this afternoon.
Forde, Dunne, O'Brien, Keogh, Hendrick and Sammon all start. Christie is on the bench.
Fair play. There are 5 really good players playing behind him too, none are really defensive- Dawkins, Hughes and Hendrick are all attack-minded, not to mention Lingard and Ince flanking him.
He should be put next to Ice, not Ince.
Gone to Sheffield United on a season long loan.
Sammon is a useful player. He's not up to the standard of a team that aspires to finish in the top 2, but I'm surprised he couldn't get a move to a team in the bottom half.
Nice to see Conor scoring a couple. In one of the reports I read, there was the line "Despite being built like a heavyweight boxer, Conor Sammon possesses a surprisingly delicate touch". Perhaps he has found his level in Division One although I think he is better than that. He got a lot of stick because Trapp selected him ahead of some fans' favourites and was a target man for the much despised long-ball tactics. We shall see but we're not exactly awash with strikers but at 29 perhaps his day is past as well.
Confirmed now.
Interesting to see how that goes. First taste of European football for starters I think?
Makes his Hearts debut tonight at home v Infonet Tallinn in the europa league
And it's currently Hearts 0-1 Infonet Tallinn...
I was hoping we might scale back on the fish puns for once.
That was terrible, Stu. Get on your pike, would you?
He was successful at Kilmarnock before - its the right plaice for him.
He made the leap then
I hear he's gutted.
From a regular on the Irish team to the relative obscurity of East Ayrshire. This scampi happening.
Second goal in 35 games for Sammon as Kilmarnock lead 2-0 at St. Johnstone.
Sammon hits the net again today.
Fifth goal in his last eight games tonight for Sammo - a penalty to put Partick 1-0 up at home to Celtic.
