I read in the paper it was 2,368 which sounds like either an official attendence or completely made up. Still a decent crowd considering the match that was on. Was there a reason why the game was not played the day before like the other LoI games? Clashing with that match was not a good idea!
The more I think about it, the more I think my 2,600 estimation was a bit on the high side. 2,368 is very believable.
It doesn't necessarly mean bigger crowds but what it does is equal things out every club would have exactly the same salary and the same size squad. Just so you know I would set the wage at 300 euro per week. If everything is equal every team in the league would have the same chance to win and there would be much more competition. Also with a much lower salary budget less clubs will fold as in recent years. This would save football in ireland and create a more competitive league and yes I believe if it's more competitive the crowds will come back.
Yea apparently (NOT official from the club) Linfield did not want to play the SETANTA Cup game on Good Friday so we kicked off at 12.30 (determined by Gardai) on Sat thus clashing with big EPL game and our Monday match (V St Pats) was deferred to Tuesday night (clashing with CL game). Decent crowds at both games but cant help feeling oppurtunities missed to corral in a few "floating" fans.
There's absolutely no way Setanta Sports would've wanted the game on Friday (and therefore clashing with its live coverage of Munster/Leinster). Not for viewers, but rather for their own resources etc. I think it was always due to be played in the Saturday and the garda enforced the early kick off
Sorry, thats wrong. Members enter through the officials door but membership numbers are taken and recorded (and have been at every match since this new arrangement was introduced). Dont know RE season tickets but defo what happens with members (cant see why it would be any different just dont know for sure). As pointed out this is a licencing requirement and the only alternative would be to issue a ticket to each person entering (as happened in previous seasons).
I'm not getting into a big discussion on here, but membership numbers are not recorded. Go in sometime when it's busy and you'll see. I've been waved through 3 times since the Fingal gate disaster.
If you don't want to believe me then fair enough, hardly something I'd make up, as I don't really like posting over here.
Don't know why they don't use the scanner!
Not sure if they mark membership number but he definitely ticks the clipboard everytime someone shows a card.
663 official crowd in Finn Park tonight against Wexford Youths.
Bloomin delighted with that considering we lost our last 2 games.
Leinster match on telly at same time as Bohs & Rovers had to effect attendance tonight at the game in Tallaght. (flippin LUAS was runnin to Tallaght either), had to be a fix.
I don't think we'll be too upset with the crowd despite that Leinster game being on at the same time.

2192 the attendance for us.

I was in the Carlisle grounds.
Very poor crowd there. I would say 150 at the most from Sligo and maybe twice that from Bray. 500 at the very most in total.
1900 dundalk
25 from ucd(them lads would do anything for a free pint)
Prob sounds about right, I`m sure official figure will come from club later today.
Where are the aisles of steps that are meant to be kept free? Oh wait, you mean the east stand was so full there were hundreds of people crammed together standing in the aisles? And what about the people standing behind the goal too? Do you think maybe just maybe that could explain the few hundred empty seats beside the Bohs fans in the main stand? Either that or it's all a big conspiracy from Rovers to artificially inflate crowd numbers for no obvious reason.
there was more then 500 hundred at the game, i'd say about 150 sligo fans alrite i'd say there was about 1000 at it, if everyone went into the covered stand it would have been full which holds 1000 seats, there was 3 rows of people in alot of places behind the goal, you could hardly walk past there.
Nah.
I was being generous with 500. 1,000 my hole. Keep on deluding yourself.
And I went for a slash at one stage and had no bother getting by behind the goals.:D
Great attendance at our game again last night. That's better than some of the Premier Division crowds. It justQuote:

Athlone Town vs Shelbourne Official attendance 586
I think Sam and to be fair Waterfords crowds have been very disappointing since they left the PD some years ago , so if their fans are now seeing crowds over the 4 figure mark (just) I think they can happy. Big enough city though and I agree with 18/18 points on the board, they should be getting a lot more.
IM Jim - whats the maketting like down there for games ?
We now have a poster for each game on our website where fans can download and stick up in pubs/offices etc, might be an idea.
1776 is the official figure for Dundalk vs. UCD.

West Waterford, that brings in a few extra numbers. There is also a West Waterford Supporters Club which is
fantastic.
