Sligo really face an uphill challenge to get through from here. If they wanted to go through they had to not concede a goal and they left in 2. Sadly,i can't see Sligo turning it around even though i would hope they do.

This tie is not over. I saw enough to suggest we can win by two over there. The luck was not with us tonight.
Don't need to win by two. Start by scoring twice and see where it bings you
Not long home. I reckon Sligo blew it. They owned the game in 1st half but apart from Bocos one off the bar they barely troubled the keeper.
Its hard to score when you dont shoot!
Hopefully they turn it around in 2nd leg
Big shock with Motherwell been beat at home by a team of Part-timers some our sides could take heart from this.
From the reports and opinion, there still seems to be some hope of a turn around, I think the players have have been a little rusty after not playing for a week, that could have a factor, the match sharpness was lacking a touch, it maybe back for the next game, as they play on Sunday and this game would have helped a lot aswell.
feck it unlucky or not its still a bad result for the league. in reality the tie is over now. 2 away goals.
Yes I think you're right - both Lllanelli and TNS are full-timers. Great result for Llanelli and hopefully they can finish the job next week.
Disappointing with the Sligo result but hopefully they can do themselves justice in the away leg.
Llannelli dropped down to semi-pro status in the seaosn just ended, as they couldn't afford to keep a pro outfit going on Welsh Premier crowds (even though it won them the league the year before).
A very good result for them, and will help push the Welsh league in the coefficients, as they're starting from such a low base.
WOn't help them if they don't get through the round steve...
How many times?
The points gained for progressing through a round are for individual clubs - which previously could only be obtained from the first round proper of the uefa cup, or group stages of the champions league.
Country co-efficients are still based on the old system of results in matches.
Therefore this result helps Welsh football's co-efficient, and progressing through the round will help Llannelli.
you're 100% right
I was way off...
Given Sligo's result it's very hard to see us match the 2.5 co-efficient the league got last year. However, the figure we lose this year is a 1.333 from the 2004/05 season so if we could achieve that then we shouldn't lose too much ground.
As things stand Northern Ireland have dropped into the bottom six, which could mean their champions having to start out in CLQR1 with the likes of San Marino, Malta and Andorra.
