Was he playing right wing back again? I presume they changed to a back four? Who played right back when they changed?
Yes - he was. Mason Holgate played RB then and was their man of the match.
Just gossip

Meanwhile, midfielder James McCarthy is poised to leave Everton before the end of the month, having been replaced by Lukaku after just 38 minutes against West Brom. Sunderland and Watford are interested in McCarthy, while Rafa Benitez could try to convince him to step down to the Championship with Newcastle United as a replacement for Moussa Sissoko.
Seems rather speculative, another similar article here.

James McCarthy on brink of Everton exit as Ronald Koeman prefers Gareth Barry and Idrissa Gana Gueye partnership in midfield
Watford might be better than Sunderland?
Less than a year ago weren't Spurs linked with him ? Has his stock really tumbled to the sides mentioned.
Yeah, and Jamie Carragher was saying Liverpool should try to sign him. I'd prefer if he remains at Everton to try to fight for his place if Sunderland or Watford are his options.
I dont think he has the energy that Klopp looks for.
Was in the top 20 EPL players for distance covered recently: http://www.skysports.com/football/ne...premier-league
I think Paul means mental energy.
Yeah, but how quickly? :)
Starts in midfield tonight. Smart move by Koeman to put him in the shop window.
Good that he's getting game time anyway and a chance to impress. More than Gibson is getting despite the new contract.
Assisted their goal too
Gibson replaced him after 66mins and Everton went on to score three more.
doesn't appear to be in the squad for today's home game vs stoke. looks like he might be moving on.
I read Celtic somewhere during the week!
sky sports says he and a few others miss out due to injuries.
James McCarthy, Darron Gibson and Tom Cleverley all miss out on the squad altogether with various injuries so Idrissa Gueye partners Gareth Barry in central midfield.
Had enough & wants out but the list of suitors is weak - http://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/2016/...t-for-ireland/
Has he any Belgian ancestry?

Koeman on McCarthy's absence today says it was "a groin problem, we need to decide if it’s an operation"
The dance begins.
I think Belgium invented chips?
I think he's had his chips at Everton.

Sky sources understand Crystal Palace have expressed an interest in signing Everton midfielder James McCarthy. We understand this would be an alternative option to Jack Wilshere if he chooses Bournemouth.
Leicester failed in a bid to sign McCarthy this window, Celtic are also interested in taking him on loan.
We’ve spoken to Everton and their position on this is that they won't entertain offers for him at this time.
What was Leicester's bid for him?
out for three weeks after surgery: https://twitter.com/Everton/status/773870507364065281

Just watched that press conference on the Twitter link and he mentioned something about Gibson being "the same" as McCarthy injury wise.
Hopefully this will clear up those niggly injury questions that have been associated with James for a while now .

mccarthy and gibson both had groin surgery
I don't know, what does struggle to past the halfway line?

I would have some apprehension that a newly converted Tricky could turn into an unrestrained punctuation zealot.
I hope this clears up those niggles that James has had for a long time .
