Will be close alright and we do have to win and hopefully we can do what we done down there earlier on in the year and come home with the three points(well after watching the irish game).
Whats the weather to be like down there tomorrow ?????

Rovers should never have been deducted those points to be honest if my understanding of the situation is correct. The point has been made on these boards before but it's worth repeating. As the league administers the suspensions why the hell don't they send each referee a list of ineligable players on the day of any respective game and put these sort of shambles to bed once and for all?
In this instance I was under the opinion that Rovers were not notified that the player (the odious Paul Shiels) was actually suspended, where's the case to answer?

Is till think we are in the best position of the top 3 to win the title. Rovers are six pts behind us and galway, ok games in hand, but you got to win them, cup games all to fit in, they defintely will lose focus and draw one or two of the backog games.. Galway, 6 wins a row, great form, but their away record is not a patch on us over the season so far, and they have to go to Finn Harps in a few weeks.
If we beat Galway in terryland, we`ll defintely win the title, simple as that.
I don't see how you can think you're in the best position...
You're right you've picked up 7 more points than United on your travels but we're level on points so we've obviously picked up 7 more points at home!
With all the extra games they have to play Rovers will struggle to win the league, they would probably need to win nearly every game.
United v Dundalk in 2 weeks will be a huge match.
Sounds like a fair comment Oriel. It will be a case if an unstoppable force coming up against a unmovabe object. GUFC haven't lost at home since September 2005 and Dundalk have a very impressive away record. A draw could be on the cards in which Rovers will be the winners. If United take three points in Finn Park next weekend, then Terryland will be full to the rafters again ...and Dundalk will find it hard to get anything out of Terryland.
This sure does beat beat the crap ouf trying to get from the bottom half of the table in to the middle of the table!
Obviously ignoring that, for all their wins over us, the only reason they are above us is because they have played more games. That 6 point lead will probably be gone by Friday night.Quote:

Game is very much on but if UTD beat Harps next week and Dundalk in Terryland it's game over and the title stays in Connacht!:)
That 6 points will be reduced if not wiped out by Friday night. We have 5 of our 8 games left at home, where we are unbeaten, and have dropped a miserly 8 points all season. We also have 2 chances to boost up the goal difference this week. Even after playing 2 games less, it's still better than Galway's. :)Quote:

We have 3 out of 6.We also haven't lost at home this year and have beaten yee twice their.Quote:

Ya by 1 goal and ye're GD may or may not improve this week.If yee draw/lose we'll be ahead on points and more than likely GD too.Quote:

As i said your too confident.Yee lost too yere main title rivals on Friday night and most Rovers fans said afterwards we were in the best position to win it.
If you win both of yere games in hand then it's game on-not game over!
well said conor, how can rovers be in the best position? even if ye do win both yer games in hand, yell only be level on points with us. and ye have the hardest three games of the lot of us:
03 Nov. Limerick v Shamrock Rovers
10 Nov. Shamrock Rovers v Finn Harps
18 Nov. Cobh Ramblers v Shamrock Rovers
i'd say yer in the worst position of the three of us.
Top o' the league!
Top o' the league!
Top o' the league!
Top o' the league!
Top o' the league!
Top o' the league!
If we win in Ballybofey, terryland will have 3000+ in it for the second time in two weeks! dundalk will have a hard time trying to beat our terryland recent record!
After the atmosphere and result the last night we'll have 3500 again anyway.A win in Ballybofey though and we're talking 4000 and more for Dundalk.
We'll still be top on gd.Quote:

Even if we don't claw back all the deficit on the pitch, there is yet another joker thrown in; the 3 points to be reclaimed from the FAI.
Whatever way you look at it, as of now, we are still in pole position.
Im sticking with my prediction of whoever wins Galway v Dundalk will go on to win the title.
Be hillarious if rovers lose the semi final and finish up in 3rd place, the smug wont be long gone from mr arogant no friends in football scully then
Latest prices from paddy power
Galway 11/8 favs
Rovers 17/10
Dundalk 2/1
Is my memory right and Dundalk were rooted to the table for a while at the start of the season? I remember when they knocked us out of the league cup I was really annoyed that we lost to a team doing awful. That's some comeback.
Yep thats correct, we were bottom after 2 games, also lost 8 of first 11 league games, (and none since) the win v ucd in the lge cup was our first of the season, i`ll admit to calling for gills head on the dundalk forum aroudn this time
the most impressive part of the comeback was the away form, think we`ve won last 6 games away from home, also we didn`t draw many
That's the key.UTD and Rovers have drawn too many games.Sure Dundalk have lost 8 times-you wouldn't think you could win a league loosing that many!Still just as good a chance as the other 2!
If the 3 managers had a choice of where to be at the moment, they would pick Rovers. It's in our own hands. We're not depending on anyone else. Also, most Rovers fans are confident that we will get the 3 points back that were stolen from us after the FAI mistake.
