There's an article there saying what we knew all along, it's all about developers and the land at the Carlisle Grounds. http://www.irishtimes.com/sport/socc...ment-1.2295177

It's the final paragraph that stands out to me...
"O’Connor is also a director of Mustardside Ltd and Bindford Ltd, two Dublin companies that are involved in property development projects in Dublin with Wicklow developer Greg Kavanagh and members of the Kiely family from Foxrock in Dublin."
Allegedly Kavanagh paid the players wages last month, i say again... Allegedly.
Exactly what everyone thought this shambles would be, a land grab plain and simple. I really do feel for the people of Bray who only have the best interests of the club at heart, especially those who have been driven out after years and decades of service. A pity McGettigans never got their takeover through, these boyo's obviously fobbed them off as long as they could after getting in bed with Kavanagh. They've been running the club into the ground the last few years solely to drive it out of the Carlisle to build a poxy housing estate and make €€€€ off the back of it. A disgrace.
It is time that County Councils stand up and say that there will be no rezoning of land without a public consultation. That opportunists are wasting their time and money trying to manipulate a system for personal gain at the expense of a community amenity. Making sure that there is a long and protracted or thorough process to this type of situation before any planning permission would be granted would discourage cynical land grabs. Department of Sports in conjunction with Dept. of Environment should draw up a list of local, regional, and national sporting facilities like the Carlisle grounds that means some sort of protection from celtic tiger mark II developers. May be wishful thinking but in an election year such protective systems could be .. suggested! Activating whistle blower legislation would ensure an investigation in to the motives of club owners if there is someone with concern maybe!? Do we have a 'fit for directorship' type regulation either?
Passed over in favour of the more useful 'fit for dictatorship' regulation, I think.
It was said to me arlier that it is one of the papers that the Bray chairman has said the the Carlisle Ground will be the home of Bray until they have a new better home with a youth academy attached. So future plans of the current owners are obvious enough - what is deemed as a better facility than the Carlisle would be interesting to hear. Would a Markets Fields type place fulfill this pledge or and ED Park type development.

A compendium of bits and pieces about Bray this season
Nice work. When laid out like that it really does highlight how mad things have been, and one suspects it isn't over yet.
Excellently researched and concisely put piece there Dodge. Even though it's all true/ public comments being reported, I can't wait til we all get our injunctions in the post.
its a quality read,
Rumours online again tonight that players haven't been paid. Wow
What are the rules with regards non payment of wages? Is there some kind of leighway for clubs. If they miss a payment they have a certain length of time to sort it out?
If the latest rumours are true this will mean it's consistent non payment and surely something will have to be done.
As far as I know if two consecutive payments are missed that counts as breach of contract on the clubs side and the player is entitled to an immediate release from the contract, while still being entitled to any monies owed.
Rumors out this way are that the players have been given their wages on time by cheque but then asked not cash them... then we've heard a club official say that there is no problem at all in relation to wages. Don't know who to believe at this stage.

John Deering and the other shareholders (Obviously not O'Connor and Mulvey...) is making some sort of big announcement at 6pm in the Royal Hotel today in relation to the future of Bray Wanderers...
