Oriel Park is a disgrace and if the FAI had any backbone it would not pass inspection for the 2017 season, god only knows how it's been allowed in this and past seasons, it's not even 3 or 4G for christ sake!
Dundalk of course know the pitch inside out and play to its variable bounce, extra bounce and the fact that the opposition will and do always find it a difficult surface to play on.
Should be banned.
seen something in the star today about UCD being unhappy with Cabinteelys pitch the other night. anyone care to elaborate on this?
Sons of pitches the lot of 'em!
Dundalk would be a better team on grass so for people to say the Astro gives them an advantage is nonsense

Unfortunately though that means there will again be no crisps and minerals available for the fine folk of Longford upon their next visit to Oriel so I would suggest they stock up in the garage next door before entering the ground.
In preparation for game in Oriel on Friday, Galway United have been training on a deflated bouncy castle.
The pitch at the Markets Field in Limerick is absolutely perfect.
It was often said that the pitch in Monaghan was so good because they put a pile of sh1te on it every fortnight.
Ferrycarrig Park has been HEAVILY sanded. Next game on it is V Rovers on 13th
Finn Park looks just lovely.
Just realised also, this thread was started by poor old Dunny.
Just awful news to hear of his passing. We can snipe away at each other at various topics but when you hear of a young lad in his mid 20's passing away it makes you appreciate the most important thing around, being alive.
