I wouldnt' be surprised if people came out in numbers for the first game, but even if they do, they won't come week in week out. It takes years of success and being competitive at the top of the table to push a clubs average from 700ish to 2/3,000.

292! In fairness, theres a difference between a midweek league cup game against a club we've not had a rivalry with due to playing in different divisions for 13/14 years (at the time) the same night as a Champions League quarter/semi final and a league game to open the season against a club we've had a bit of a battle with in recent times on and off the pitch (signing players), particularly for the first game of the season and with Thomond Park a real factor.
Ya I'd agree with you there. If we can become successful over the years we should easily make the 2,000 average anyway.
It still amazes me how fickle people are when it comes to going to matches in any code. You either commit to it and go through thick and thin or don't bother at all.
Looks like Mourinho's stint in charge of Real could be over by the time the season starts...
Anyone else hear an ex Limerick manager is in line to make a return as assistant manager?
Cunningham and the butcher?
Just went for Cunningham over Kilbane because I can't see Kilbane leaving England and I'd be surprised if Kerley would take an assistant role so going for NOC there.
Noel O Connor is a good coach so would be good to see him involved. I think most people have always said he's a better coach than manager.
It's Eddie McGoldrick and Dave Connell :good:
I heard Ken DeMange and Noel King
This is getting ridiculous the club needs to sort this out and fast we will end up losing half of last season squad never mind signing new players its a farce.
Yep that is what i hard didn't wanna say it in case you didn't want the names mentioned I think it could be good being honest i don't know what it is about Kilbane but i just think he would be the enthusiastic type that will really give it his all seen him talking football a few times and he seems to know his stuff.
I've been told by a load of lads that Kerley is an excellent coach and the only thing that stops him being a good manager is his people skills, with Kilbane handling that side of things i reckon it could be a good partnership. Id just hope that Kerley would have a good knowledge of the players that are still available in Ireland.
There was THIRTY ONE players in last seasons squad!!
Could work on a couple of levels.
That's been doing the rounds of town the last ten days we'll have to wait and see does it have any more truth than the Pete Taylor/Jason McCateer/Steve Staunton/Your Mother rumours.
Is there anyone out there still unsigned we could get to improve last years squad? It looks very much like same squad, different manager, do better! I really hope the Scully sacking wasn't premature, because I know there were a few he'd been talking to that were interested in signing.
Happy Christmas to everyone! :-)
