Trust me nobody wants to know, in fairness, whne we were playing games early in the season with 5 or 6 B players starting games, everyone said I was making excuses, so expect the same bud.

In fairness I think we held our own until Fairview went 2-1 up.
I even heard the View defence say at 1-1 "come on lads, we're in for a real battle", so that itself says it all for me.
In saying that when we went 2-1 down (and then 3-1 down a minute later) a lot of heads dropped, and thats not what you need when your fighting relegation, but we'll keep plugging away and with a few players due back in the next 2/3 weeks, we can only get stronger.
I'd take 2pts from the next 2 games now, if offered.
We have 9 league games remaining and the way I see it is if we can pick up 10-11pts from those games I reckon we should be safe.
Remaining games : Home : Summerville, Granville & Wembley
Away : Pike, Balla, Regional, Boro, Corbally & Aisling.
The 3 home games are must wins for me, and we are then more than capable of picking up at least a point away to Corbally, and hopefully Wembley & Aisling wont have anything to play for when we meet them.
What are ye'r remaining games?
1.Balla
2.Pike
11.Corbally
12.Granville
I think these are our remaining games
Home: granville,wembley,balla,regional
away:pike,star,aisling
Pretty sure this is what we have left....Hopefuly take granville at home and maybe wembley and sneak a point off balla or regional..the only result i can see away is against ye...Only saying this cause we beat ye already but ye are good at home!!
[quote=Neutral Jo;905752]Ya to be fair Aisling on there day are as good as anyone in town.
However i think this season will be beyond them. They seem to lack consistency. Can anyone from Aisling name there starting 11? Everytime i check there team they seem to have different players?
AA always have 1 or 2 missing. first choice starting 11 would probably be something like:
1. Gilmartin
RB. Mescall
LB. Byrnes
CB. Keenan/Dalton
CB. McDonald
RM. Murphy
CM. Meskell
CM. Sheehan/Hurley
LM. Roe
CF. Cusack
CF. Cummins
1.Balla
2.Pike
3.Fairview
11.Summerville
12.Granville
1.Pike
2.Balla
3.Fairview
----------
11.Corbally
12.Granville
Think it might just be a year 2 early for Fairview and id have to fancy Balla.I do think Fairview are gonna be very strong in the coming years. They are very young and have some very talented youth players coming through.

A few reasons
Aisling have a big squad of A players, the squad was tested last week against St Michaels despite the fact that Aisling were missing 5 players that would normally start they were able to field an equally strong team.
Most players can play in more than one position
Players get injured
Different teams picked for different game plans
Competition for places

Thats fair enough Whitestripe and glendale but do ye give yerself
a chance at the league or would ye be happy with the cup runs?
It seems to me looking from the outside in that ye are more of a cup team at the moment? And as i said can compete with the best on any day.
Maybe next few years can establish a league winning team?
I think it takes a few years to get the right consistancy to win a league and then go on and sucessfully defend it. We are happy with the MJC run and have put in some good performances, Boro 3-1 Carrick 3-1 St Michaels 4-2, however we are not getting carried away with anything.
I would prioritise setting Aisling up as a serious contender for the league before I would start to look at the FAI and MJC competitions. There is a good squad of players signed, training is varied, different and well attended and more importantly the gear is nice so we are heading in the right direction imo.
Hard to know who will win the league or who will be relegated, Balla have set themselves up nicely as have Pike but the View are putting together a strong team, might be too much for them this year? Still alot of games to be played and hopefully there will be a few surprises.

AA are away to Pike next Thursday - that will tell alot about AA's league hopes.
anyone give us a chance against regional on sunday??After all they were lucky to beat us 2-1 in the 1st league game out in there place and we were short a few key players that day as well???
