He missed the previous game due to a "dead leg" so possibly substituted due to tiredness - not sure. Reports show that he was involved in a number of moves, including one leading up to a penalty (missed by Niall Quinn gone wrong, Nuhiu).
Lad I'm working with at the moment is an Owl fan and is a season ticket holder....he was raving about how good McGeady was this morning. You'd think Sheffield Wed had signed Messi he was that excited!
Great to hear, he's on the box Friday night.
Martin O’Neill relieved to see Aiden McGeady back in action

If it's a choice between a raw James McClean and a raw Aiden McGeady I would play McClean every time.
Far less frustrating player and more likely to grab a goal.
I would agree. But then there's things like Georgia:

i feel as i type this i am forgetting something significant, but has he done much since georgia?
taken off at half time in wednesday's loss at home to rotherham in a tactical switch. i wouldn't think his place in the squad is at risk - yet - but the likes of judge will be wondering why they aren't ahead of him in the pecking order.
in his defence i guess he has not played first team football for a while so it will take some time to get back up to speed.
Not even in the squad tonight... any hope coming off on Saturday so early was injury related?
Rotated according to Carvalhal. No injury.
McGeady was subbed against Rotherham because he wasn't effective and dropped from the squad against Brighton because the manager set up the team for a draw. Word on the street is that he hasn't won the fans over and most aren't impressed. Getting worried for him.
Charlie Darwin will come on and give some words of encouragement, and dimiss all Wednesday fans as nonsensers. Don't you worry Owls.
I wish he was playing in some mid-tier spanish or italian team.
Scored! To put Wednesday ahead at Forest.
It was probably a miscued cross.
Goal! Nottingham Forest 0, Sheffield Wednesday 1. Aiden McGeady (Sheffield Wednesday) left footed shot from the left side of the box to the top right corner. Assisted by Barry Bannan.
Good goal actually about 1.20 in to this http://www.skysports.com/watch/video...-0-3-sheff-wed An excellent run as well about 20 seconds before. Subbed as usual though.
How's been doing out on loan? Haven't had a chance to see him yet
He has a decent left foot. His two goals V Georgia were with his left and he almost scored a peach before half-time V Poland at home with his left.
Taken off at half-time.
Pretty scathing article about McGeady.

McGeady's had some pretty bad games for Ireland recently but didn't think this was one of them. I just don't think there's really a place for him in O'Neill's system, and he's not doing anything to suggest O'Neill should change the system for him.
Yeah he sounds likes a guy just trying to find fault, as much as it seemed like he was trying to find reasons to praise Doyle, which was deserved but let's not go over the top. Zero balance in that. He might be the fall guy but he worked hard last night and had some good moments.
He was off his own pace. A couple of times it looked like he had little determination to hold onto the ball. In saying that, he was double and triple marked when he got on the ball.
At least he copped on to supporting Coleman in the 2nd half and not leave him one on one, which is our default full back support mode.
I thought Mcgeady was ok. He and Judge had their work cut out as the two guys between them had little influence.
Why do you say that? He rarely gets beyond 45 minutes at Sheffield. However, there is probably little doubt that he'll be in the panel.
Not even in the matchday squad this afternoon. Injured? Suspended?
was a doubt for the game: https://twitter.com/domhowson/status/720953049112580096
Owls' Manager still has faith in McGeady http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2016/04/15...-to-wednesda/?
The commentator just said that Aiden's father, John McGeady, had a spell with Sheffield United in the seventies. He's had a decent enough first half, useful in possession and working back well.
Wonder if McGeady will be playing for Everton when Leicester win the title? (if they have not already won it)?
Conspicuous again by his absence today from the matchday squad.
