I've offered it to dfx(as he's already assistant and one of the longest serving managers) but he'd prefer someone else getting it so Mr A, it's all yours.

his first action will be to re-name the league the cool-dog appreciation league!!
Ok. Now what happens?
Do people want me to boot the inactives and make it one division or go on some form of recruiting drive?
Currently we have 18 members. 13 are active (as in have been online within the past month).
If 3 more could be tempted 2 divisions of 8 is probably about the ideal.
Lads, if you know anyone who might join give them this link and I'll accept them: http://www.xperteleven.com/?lid=43871
Right. Two divisions of 8. Two teams not currently being actively being managed but reminders are sent.
Good luck everyone!
Keep manners about you or 4 of the last 5 will be away as well. :p
The fixture computer does seem to be a bit mental in fairness.
I'll probably regret this, but...
What's involved in this? How much time, for example? Do you have to be online for games or is it a case that if you don't log on at all in the previous week, your existing settings carry forward to the next game? How long's a season too?
Maybe this would be a good time for an explanatory post for the vaguely curious?
It's quite simple actually. You can take it casually and spend just 2 minutes setting tactics for your games or go in depth and spend longer. The game is set up quite good in that regard as it caters for the casual player and the more serious player. And you don't have to be online for the matches.
Is thre a code to join the league? Sure I might take over one of the inactive spots for a while anyway; see what's involved.
Use this: http://www.xperteleven.com/?lid=43871
There is one inactive team so you can take them over :)
Done.
Right. You are now manager of Gormanstown Drogs. Feel free to change the team name by going to Team Settings.
Welcome aboard.
By the way guys, all I can do is choose how many divisions there are, I can't influence which teams end up in them. I know it sucks for those teams denied promotion though.
Ah yes...tactics would've been useful...
Mr stu, read the rules for a good and reasonably short indication of what to do. Two big things, generally offensive at home and cautious away unless you look deeper and want ot spend more time at the game and the average age of teh team and squad should be as close to 26 as possible. That drastically impacts the team..
Cheers dfk-. This is going to be quite the baptism of fire. My squad's full, so it seems I have to sell before I can buy. My team's average age is 33 - because it's been dormant for a couple of years, I assume, so no new players. And I didn't have time to check my line-up before the first match, so I lost 6-1.
Things can only get better, I suppose. Or stay the same. Or get worse...?
You can always sack a few of the hoors if you cannot sell them. Things should better simply because there is a manager now. :)
You had a manky fixture on the first day, it'll get easier.
Is "sack" just the same as "release on a free"?
Or is it like the Bohs version - forged signatures, pointless, expensive legal cases and other such fun?
The former I'm afraid.
Kinda hoping your club hits financial problems by the way :p
Hi guys,
About 2 years ago we set a league up on Xperteleven and we got a good few teams joining up. Mainly posters from boards.ie soccer forum. We had a lot of people drop off for different reasons and so have a few uneven teams as some were not looked after.
So, we're setting up a new league for anyone who fancies it.

All teams will be created with an equal level of skill to start off with, so a level playing field for all.
We started with 50 teams and had about 20 left when the season finished last week. Hopefully we should have 4-6 divisions.
Anyway league starts next week if anyone is interested...
Cheers,
Rory
Got a 19/6 forward through the youth system there. Nice.
must have been the week for it, got a 17/4 now to make sure he doesn't rot away
Tactics and red arrows could see our first ever season outside the top flight..
3 up, 3 down certainly means that most teams have something to play for anyway!
Just got made a VIP as a prize in another league. Is there anything much to be said for it beyond the next opponent overview, which is pretty handy?
It's so long since I didn't have VIP that I can't fully remember what it provides and what it doesn't..
The stats are the big thing I guess and seeing the opponent's last line up I think. Comparison of team stats in a division can help find out where your team lies in comparison to the others on strength, age etc etc.
ffs lost the 4 games against the leagues top 2 teams by one goal in each of the games
Forgot all about this in a week and now Im relegated, lost all four games!
Big six points against the two nordies at the top...still top spot in reach miraculously and we have survived already. Miracle..
conceding a 95th minute winner is just not right, 4 game losing run has to stop or we will be gone
Got very, very lucky against centremid there.. didn't create a single chance!
It's tight at the top. I managed to finish with a 100% record at home and my last 2 games are away to 2 of the bottom 3. It should mean I have a decent chance of winning the league but my away form has been awful.
Certainly we both picked out the others play-maker, but given that you went offensive and I played normal I think we both went for the win. And you got a lot closer than I did, but my keeper had a great game.
It's that stage of the season though where some of the guys have to have their game time topped up so it's hard to go for absolute full strength.
That balancing act is what makes this game interesting in my opinion.
