Aisling 0 - 2 St Michaels
Nenagh 1 - 3 Wembley
Well so much for the all Limerick last 4.
Well done to Leeside for their 1-0 win over Regional. Hopefully Grattan can put in a performance tomorrow and get two Cork sides in the semis.
Result from LIT: Balla 3 Grattan 1 aet ...
Any result from the Aisling - St Michaels game?
aisling won 4-2. good result for balla i fancied grattan to cause an upset having seen them a few times this year they are a quality side
aisling went one up. AA keeper then gave away penalty and was sent off. michaels got a second penalty to be 2-1 up at half time. AA scored 3 in second half with only 10 men. michaels keeper had a bad day - made bad mistakes for first and third goals. michaels were disappointing though for a team with their reputation.
SEMI FINAL DRAW
Aisling Annacotty v Ballynanty Rvs
Nenagh “A” v Leeside
THE Balla manager at this stage still dont no who his best eleven is he changes the team around so often. What was the starting team yesterday???
Surely favourates to win it now
hickey in goals, dodo lf, dunphy rf, garreth cb, crowley cb, conway lw, quinny and josse in the middle, sully rw and wallace and brock up front.. earls came on and changed the game.. frank lee came on too and scored goal of the game.. other subs were daly,o leary, slattery
Well firstly I'd like to say well done Towlie an Leeside for a great result. The result is all that matters an ye dug deep an yer in the semis.
Ourselves, well if we played badly as ye already know I would be the first to point it out but considering where an who we were playing I thought we were excellent throught out the game. The weather(a gale blowin for the entire game) an the pitch were not great an it suited Bally's more physcial defensive style to be honest but I dont think they were prepared for the way we came at them especially in the 2nd half against the windThey were desperate men for a lot of the game throwing bodies in front of an on top of us to stop us playin. We were a yard quicker than them but they were cute an knew wherwe to give away frees where it would not hurt them.
The ref an his display also could no doubt be a factor but I do not want to sound as if we are bad loosers.I could'nt honestly blame him for any of their goals an the penalty decisions that we thought were straight forward were 50/50 at best an I know if they had been given against us we would'nt be happy. If I'm to be very honest an I will be we beat ourselves.Bally were on the back foot for a lot of the game an happy enough to soak up the pressure but we outplayed them footballing wise an more than matched them in the physcial sense.
You can alwasy tell when a team is struggling when they make changes quickly as Bally did in the 2nd half.We were pushing them back an back an took a deserved lead from man of the match Mark O'Sullivan. But you see we were winning headers for the whole game an not giving away silly frees up to about 10 mins to play but then probably sensing victory we got a bit nervous an started to bite a bit at them.
Their were 2 lads from some limerick paper standing with me an as soon as we started to give away the frees they told me thats this is when Bally would start to pick it up an they did. They changed their front 2 an it did change the game for them.We did not compete for 2 headers an were were punished an the 3rd goal was a freak ,Ronny Radford type shot.Great strike but never to be repeated.3 / 1 was harsh,we came an played the top, side in Limerick on their own patch an played them off the park an''Supporter'' I dont think you could argue that we were the better footballin side, but in fairness to ye they have bags of experience an weathered the Grattan storm. They were also excellent in the air an on the day when the wind was as strong as it was that was a major factor in them keepin us to 1 goal.
I was gutted for the lads at final whistle because they had come away from home again an put in a fantastic display an given their all to have victory snatched away in so crule a fashion.Speaking to the Bally management afterwords they were very complimentry towards us in sayin that we were a fantastic young footballin side with a great future ahead of us.That was after we had to listen to them sigin an roarin in their dressin room right next to ours.Loosin is **** an thats all.I know some one has to loose but when you gave what our lads gave to come away with nothin is gut wrenchin.
Thanks for the words of support throughout an again well done Towlie an Leeside we'll be cheerin ye on in the semis.
BALLA lads singing and roaring in the dressing room afterwards......didn,t know they give out cups for winning last 8 matchs.
I'll give ya that I did feel the winner was offside .
But the linesman was right in line and he's not the shady type .
Whether he was right or wrong I've no doubt that the linesman genuinely believed he was on .
That ref on the otherhand is one of the most annoying you'll come across , one word towards him(abusive or not) and you could find yourself with a yellow .
We were unlucky to lose our left winger in the warm up which hampered us a lot going forward(he really is a fantastic player) .
I don't think either side was at their best really , I'm sure ye are capable of more than that and I sure as hell know we are .
Who do you all think will go on to win the league?
Sorry if this question has been asked recently i have only just returned to the information hi-way!
I think that its between Balla Fairview and Pike, Regional do not have the bottle.
Sorry,
I have just realised that I have posted in the wrong area for the Limerick Premier League:(
no but given littlemans description of the match and the fact that balla were only minutes away from going out of the munster junior of course your goin to celebrate gettin through,i'm pretty sure the lads know they are only through to the semi's and there is a hell of a lot more work to be done
Nenagh v Leeside
Aisling v Ballynanty
I think these games are on the weekend of 13th April.
Has it been decided where these games are going to be played?
anybody know what song balla were singing after the game on sunday? frankie lee for 'your a star'
My comments about Bally singing after the game wer'nt meant in a bad way just ye all know its hard to be the loosin side when you can hear how happy the other team is to have won.Fair dues to Bally an best of luck to them in the semis though I have a rebel heart an I'll be hopin Leeside can up it again an win.
Look hoop,I never ment it as if is or was the worst thing in the world. It was said as kind of a parody, there we are dejected in our dressin room an on the other side of the wall, their delighted singin an shoutin.More of a veiw on the 2 sides of football, the winnin an loosin an how it effects both teams. When the Bally fella paid me the compliment I was down in the dumps beacuse of loosin an hearin them celebrate an though it was a nice gesture at the time by the Bally fella it did'nt cheer me up much. Why oh why cant people just read these posts for what they are an not for the little bits of shiite they can drag up that have no relevence to the reports on the game.
hoop, thanks very much for your blessing an allowing me a fair point.I can go to sleep now knowing the worlds in safe hands.
I actually think that aisling will beat balla in the semi's to be honest...They are one of the best footballing teams we have played so far in the league and look very dangerous going forward..Now i know not all footballing teams win match's but i am putting my money on Aisling!!!
I will stick my head out and say nenagh then for the other spot...
Whos the best football side left in it,football now not kick **** artists, football
well going by my last comments i would have say aisling!!! but i have only seen 2 of the 4 teams play!!!
Of the 2 sides I have experience of seeing in action against us I would describe them as being physcial sides who try to play ball rather than football sides who can get physcial if needed.Nenagh an Ashling are unknowns to me but if they are as you say football sides rather than the latter I would air on the football rather than the pyhscial side of things comin through.I can see a quick footballin side winnin the Mjc outright,,,,,,,,,,,,just dont know if theirs such a thing left in it.
aisling are as physical as any team in town and play to their strenghts which is not by playing football im afraid.maybe they do try to play football against the lesser teams as they are prob allowed but in any game they played against pike in the last 3 years all they were interested in was kicking them.
Look hoop, have you not any thoughts of your own on football.Ones that dont have to do with Pike or things that have happened to Pike.I have great time for Pike, along with the rest of the Limerick teams but why when anyone mentions anything to do with anything do you have to bring up Pike. Come on you seem like a decent chap, just try to go 24 hours without mentioning Pike,I dare ya.:D
