I recall poor old Johnny Giles used to have terrible trouble with those foreign sounding names, especially two former Bolton Wanderers player Yuri Djorkaeff who he continually referred to as "Jerk Off" and Jay-Jay Okocha as "Gotcha".

Rovers A Team game Vs. Drogs this weekend was originally down as being played in Finn Park, it's changed to Showgrounds now.
No sign of Arsenal at the top of the Premiership Table on Aertel P413, they have fallen of their perch already, I wonder where they could have got to, maybe Aertel has put them into the Setanta Cup.
PaddyPower has Owen Morrison to score today at 8/1. I think those odds are a bit stingy considering he got sacked a few weeks ago.
I never hear a thing about that.

Well done Wexford.....
And here's the FAI article on our 3rd LC in a row. http://www.fai.ie/index.php?option=c...k=view&id=3637
Our win against UCD in the 2004 final mustn't have counted, I guess.
Thats UCD safe for another year then

"..Sammy Morrow scored a hat-trick as Derry City cruised to a remarkable fourth League Cup victory in a row with a facile win over luckless Wexford Youths at Ferrycarrig Park. " [dated 27 September 2008]
Don't tell lies about Irish Football.
With progress in Education:
I am presumising/hoping/thinking that LoI fans have only a small bit of their head up their own backside. Because LoI fans choose to critise Irish Football today, there is no gaurantee that previous sentence is untrue.
'More With Education!'.
Drogs have 27 games in hand on ye though, don't go counting chickens! :p
And they're playing their first this weekend: http://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/socce...res_index.html

Cork boss Liam Kearney is certainly anticipating a tough night.
"It's been a long season with Derry alright, we seem to have good battles with them all year so hopeful tomorrow night will be no different," he said.
On Ladbrokes main page, the paragraph on Pats v Bohs in the cup:
- St Patricks vs Bohemians http://www.ladbrokes.com/images/sb3_..._Bohemians.jpg They are way behind their opponents in the league, but plans for Finn Harps’ new stadium have been given the green light, so at least there is good news off the pitch. Those glad tidings might be the spur they need and we go 21.00 for them to beat Sligo Rovers 3-0.

Which team gets to play Mervue in the playoff with the A Championship???:D
Anyway, the league tables are a joke. They haven't allocated Wexford Youths with the 3 points for the L37 game or deducted Athlone 1 point and given Waterford 2 additional points for the ineligible player game
There are no grounds for the Wexford one. I haven't followed the other close enough to comment.
The main thing is that the www.eircomloi.ie website has them right, I suppose
Marco Materazzi stands up to abuse and humiliation from individual journalists and newspapers.
http://www.pressgazette.co.uk/story....code=42342&c=1
These journalists were content to publish abusive lies for quite some time.
The Sun and The Daily Star settled early this year.

http://www.pressgazette.co.uk/story.asp?storycode=40756
There are some naive types who believe that "journalists are fans too" and its their job to sell newspapers. But that job includes the abuse of individuals.
Continue To Keep The Segregation Between Journalists And Football Fans!
(Eventually we may succeed in driving this disease out of Football.)
From RTE.ie Nov 15 2008
'O'Shea had a glorious chance to double Galway's advantage on 79 minutes when he collected the ball deep on the right of the box and unleashed a powerful drive but his sat-nav was off-kilter and his effort rocketed wide of the target.'
Marco Matterazi is an absolute scumbag, the papers we guilty of not being able to prove without a reasonable doubt in a court of law what they suggeted he said to Zidane. It doesn't prove that he didn't say it, simply that what he said could not be proven in a court of law as there were insufficient witnesses.
This is the Wikipedia version of events, and if they're innacurate you can be damn sure they'd be pulled down ages ago....

Last week Dundalk were down on Aertel to host Drogheda at Oriel Park on Friday night. Still, with the match moved to be televised on RTE how would RTE be expected to know. As a bonus, according to Aertel Finn Harps were to host Salthill at Oriel Park at the same time.
They also had the Shelbourne v Salthill game down for Terryland Park earlier in the week.
It must be a new thing this season. Longford are playing at home to us and away to Cork at the same time, at least according to the Round 6 fixture list on LOI.ie.
New team in the 1st Div all of a sudden! Shels away to Loughshinny United in Flancare Park this weekend :D
