So who is it then???
Massive relief to have Ogbene in the bag. Well done to Russell and Pat Sullivan what a statement of intent. With possibly Aganovic and this mystery striker our prospects are really looking up. The super blues for Europe !
Reckon cork will get agnanovic which leaves us still short at the back.
The striker training is an actual Brazilian :D
Ogbene is a fantastic signing aswell.
Him Clarke and Brazilian in a Russell team is potentially very ****in crowd pleasing!
Our only chance of getting Aganovic is he would be guaranteed football here where as he would have a fight on his hands at Cork for a start at CB. From clips I've seen he looks like he can play ball from the back, exactly what russell wants.
Lads can we just give a name you swear it was going to impact on if we sign him or not lol
Delighted with the signing, well done to the club.
Heard one de coaches recommended him. Fingers crossed he'll sign n we'll all be dancing the samba!!!
Anyone know wot lenght of contract Ogbene has signed, hopefully at least a two year deal.
Any chance this Brazilian is the one and only Rafael Ramazotti de Quadros
Just listening to Live95 this morning they had a interview with Martin Russell he said he expects 1 or 2 more players in and will be more than likely coming from overseas said they be new to the league.
Rodrigo Tosi new superblues striker. 34 yr old. Much travelled Brazilian. Fierce exotic team we're putting together.
This lad looks very very good in training strong lad great in the air and very good with his feet really excited to see him get going.
He has played in a lot of strange leagues but in fairness he has scored a lot of goals. Could be a gem for us.
Players I spoke to about him said straight away he needs to be signed after playing with him I am very excited having seen him.
It's shaping up as a team we will enjoy watching especially with Martins style of play. Really positive week, now confident of having a competitive team to challenge for top 6.
We need some cover in CM and either a CB to play with Kevin O'Connor if Williams goes back to LB or we need another LB. It looks like a weak point at the moment. Squad looking good now and probably ahead of a few teams at this stage.
Andrew cunneen reckons at least 3 more signings. Down the spine. He's been pretty spot on so far.
Excellent stuff well done club now it's very important we get a top centre half
So any idea what is coming next?
Personally centre half midfield maybe one more striker.
I've been hearing we are looking for down the spine anyway I think that is well known now if they are good standard we could have a very good season ahead.
Trying to ignore the Soccernomics memories ringing in my brain. Wonder how good the Malaysian Super League is?
Apparently a French international midfielder is close to signing anyone also here this?
Squad at the minute.
Goalkeepers: Freddy Hall,Brendan Clarke
Defenders: Shaun Kelly,Tony Whitehead,David O'Connor,Robbie Williams,Shane Tracy
Midfielders: Ian Turner,Stephen Kenny,Shane Duggan,Paul O'Conor,Lee J Lynch,Chiedoze Ogbene,Dean Clarke
Strikers: Rodrigo Tosi,John O'Flynn,Garbhan Coughlan,Chris Mulhall
Defence is very weak we need a couple of signing in that area alone one or two injuries and we are in big trouble.
Another striker needed aswell.
Midfield we are OK two very good wingers Kenny and Turner as back up is strong.
Defence a major concern
Ya the team looks extremely light at the back. I'd take two more defenders ahead of anything else Looking at what we have.
Squad finally starting to shape up nicely though.
Don't forget Paul O'Conor and Ian Turner can cover in defence aswell. We need either a new starting or cover at left back though imo if we are being greedy like.
At the minute that can play in defence we have:
Right Back: Shaun Kelly,Ian Turner,Paul O'Conor
Centre Back: Robbie Williams.Tony Whitehead,David O'Connor,Paul O'Conor
Left back: Shane Tracy,David O'Connor,Robbie Williams
Considering we will be signing another centre back I am fairly certain then I don't think we are as light as it looks and given budgets I suppose we can't expect to have every position as well covered as we do the likes of out wide.
