Are they designed to keep the noise in or they just happen to have people making noise to begin with?
I go with a deliberate architectural design to keep the noise in.
eg Leipzig's stadium "The roof has an integrated floodlight design and is designed to provide superior acoustics"
I was being a little bit facetious, I have no doubt the German stadiums are built to help contain the fabulous atmospheres their fans generate, but I'd say you don't get those atmospheres in England to begin with, in a large part because a large number of fans are priced out of attending games. I can't imagine something like this happening in England nowadays:

The Dortmund fans try to copy Celtic's YNWA but it's just a passable version of the real thing.
Give them a break, they're German. They haven't had the best start in life.
I flicked over to the Galatasaray game with the Dortmund game at 1-2. The place was hopping and Gal were piling on the pressure so I watched it for a couple of minutes. Flicked back, 3-2 !!!
Had to feel sorry for Malaga but I think it's better for the semi final viewing really. I'm hoping for Dortmund v Madrid and Barca v Bayern.
I'd prefer Dortmund v Barca and Real Madrid v Bayern with Dortmund v Real final.
I've a feeling though we'll have an all German and all Spanish semi.
Looks like I have too.
Makes sense from so many vantage points for UEFA to get a Germany/Italy V Spain/France final.
2 teams from the same country in the CL final is ..... incestuous.
Though a semi final 'derby' is usually interesting.
The Dublin - London route is very fruitful if it flies over NW London. Depending on which side you're on you can see Wembley, Emirates (RHS) or WHL, Upton Park and Olympic Stadium (LHS) then it flies over the City and from one side you (RHS) can see Chelsea, QPR, Fulham and Brentford and from the the other side Millwall, Palace, Wimbledon dog track, All England tennis, The Stoop and Twickenham. You also get to see the 2 Liverpool clubs and some of the midlands clubs on a clear day. Not to mention the Aviva, Croker and Dalyer on certain take-off routes from Dublin.
Don't forget the Aer Lingus sports ground!
Is it Barnet or Brentford have an ad on the rook of their stand because it's on a flight path into/out of London?
|It's Brentford.

I noticed that when it was mentioned when they were playing Chelsea in the FA Cup this year that they have a pub at all four corners of the ground and I had to go look at it.
It would be easily visible from a plane taking off from or landing at Heathrow.
remember seeing pittodrie and the 2 dundee stadiums coming back from finland a few years ago, was a lovely clear saturday afternoon. great craic trying to spot stadiums from planes!!
We are the coolest people ever!
Pittodrie has to be one of the most spectacularly placed stadia. I couldn't get over the view when I went to see it when in Aberdeen a few years ago.
I passed Stade de France on the train to Charles de Gaulle airport. That not really what ye're looking for though is it? I could see Tynecastle from the top of Arthur's Seat!
Grrrrrrr. Turned away when the score was 1-2 with 2 minutes to go to pick up on the Sky Sports Championship results. I should have known better. Late goals all over the shop. 5th minute of injury time Barnsley equalise at Cardiff. Grrrrrr. There's also been a late injury time winner at the Den. Miracles of miracles.Owls win.
And Trap wasn't in charge of any of the three teams who conceded the goals!! Rotten substitutions by the managers ;)
Can't blame the ref for the Dortmund last goal. Linesman's responsibility.
Who'd want to be a Malaga supporter this am? I can almost feel the pain from here.
i did the same, watched the dortmund game for a good while before checking the madrid game and saw it was 1 nil so was thinking no point watching that.. flicked over and saw galatasaray 3-1 up got a shock ha, left that on and ended up missing the second malaga goal, switched back to the madrid game presuming malaga couldnt possibly lose, couldnt believe then decided to see if it was over and saw 3-2. cant believe malaga threw it away like that but suppose its better that dortmund went through, barca will prob win tonight but im going for psg, and surely bayern are through.
PSG are giving this a right go, and are better than Barca at the moment. There is an eerie silence beginning to descend on Camp Nou.
With that in mind, Barca will probably score in the 45th minute and put the tie to bed.
Get in!!!!
Well that shut me up.
Not how you expected it to though.
Indeed! I am pleasantly surprised to have been fed my words on a delicious plate.
And it has been delicious.
Glad to see the counter attack is back in vogue in Paree.
Ibrahimovic with the assist too. He's had a lot of space in front of the Barca back four. How the Blaugrana must regret not signing up Paul Green during the summer.
One man team...
Someone had to say it.
One man team? Becks?
Was wondering where you were.
Sometimes I'm just happy to be absorbed with the beauty of the wonderful game.
Come on Becks.
Barca running down the clock for 15 minutes!
a hundred angels lost a feather.
I think the more important question is what channel you watched it on.
No choice but to be truly patriotic and go with Pravda, sorry I meant RTE.
Hate them!
Liam has had his testosterone boost this morning, Giles is on the defensive after the first round.
"Henry Shefflin" ,"Brian o'Driscoll", no prizes for guessing who was talking.
Christy Ring??? FFS
Next they will be trying to compare Messi with Larry Reilly.
RTE Way Superior to ITV...
