Sorry Bonnie. We haven't hired a car yet, still just thinking about it and also thinking of getting the train still. Anyway, I thought you were getting in after us.

I'm heading to Greece vs Czech Rep in Wroclaw on the 12th June. Using it as an excuse to see Wroclaw for a few days because it's supposed to be beautiful.
Anyone else going to other cities? I'm taking in Krakow from the 7th June until the 10th June (leaving early for Poznan). Also going to Sczczein (wrong spelling I'm sure!) in North West Poland for a few nights between the Spain and Italy games. Got an Ibis there for 3 nights for about 110 euro, slap bang in the middle of town. Much better value than Poznan and Gdansk and means I get to see a bit of the place.
Apparently it costs twice as much if you're taking a rental car from Berlin to eastern europe. Hypocrites, don't they remember where they came from? :)
I'm probably going to be in Berlin for the duration of the group stages as I've got tickets for the two Poznan games. Doubt I'll go all the way to Gdansk on the off chance. Anyone else going to be in Berlin for the Spain game?
I have a spare rail ticket from Berlin to Poznan (cost me £35.00) if anyone wants it.
I'm flying instead now cos Ryanair released cheapish flights from Liverpool to Poznan.
I'm happy to post it to you rather than waste it.
I've actually given up trying to get to Poznan on the Saturday. Booked a hotel (****hole) for Sunday night in the City.
If someone can offer me a reasonable option of getting down there Saturday I will take it.
Otherwise I'll stay the night in Berlin and get the train down. :(
Okey doke..
If you hear of anybody else looking to use that route the they can have it..
Did Polrail sort any tickets for anyone ?
I got an email telling me there were no 1st class tickets left and replied saying id take 2nd class, no response. Have i been had
Anyone travelling from Poznan to Gdansk on the 13th, what's the best option??
Well this train stops in Bydgoszcz but that's on route so pretty understandable. Are you sure that a Poznan - Gdansk train goes through Wroclaw? If you look at a map that's insane.
There's trains going almost every hour between the two cities, I just picked a train that we'd actually be likely to make/least hungover for.
Well I booked them about three and a half weeks ago and the arrived last week. I'm not sure whether if you book now they will arrive on time. I genuinely think there wont be a problem due to the volume of trains they are running and the fact that you can't reserve a seat on the train indicates they intend to stand plenty of people on the trains. Failing that there will be about a thousand Irish camper vans going between the two cities so getting a lift up to Gdansk should not be a problem.
At this stage been told pre-booking possible, but you're better off doing as soon as you get to Polska pretty much.
If you're on Facebook there's any number of groups fielding this and other information from Polish-based Irish.
Including Damian Moran's book, is it?
Hi we have seats to all 3 matches on our bus from Berlin travelling with the Republic of Ireland Soccer Supporters Club. You can get in touch by emailing roisscatirelanddotcom or twitter @roissc and I'll send you a phone number the return price on all 3 games is €80 each.
Croatia and Italy games up on portal now. Cat 1
Lads Polrail is an agent site. Not the actual rail company of Poland, thus they charge you more for the tickets.
You can buy tickets direct from the rail company and reserve first class tickets, once it is within 30 days of the date of travel.

Hi Desy, my foot.ie account is acting up so it won't let me send you a message. I have to find you in a forum and reply to your post each time. I added you as a friend in case that meant I could send you a message...it didn't work. Anyway, yes I'm the guy looking for the train ticket. Rob 42 penton street, London N19QA. If you need to contact me it might be easier if i give you my email address sayhellotorob@yahoo.com or my phone 07527357994 because I probably won't be able to reply again on this site. Getting that train ticket would be a massive relief to me.
Rob
It doesn't matter when you travel as long as you make it into the stadium before 8.45pm.Quote:

Michael from the casa rebelde shop in Temple Bar is running buses for both games (Mob 00353873223096). He has a couple of spots left for the ITL game I believe.
Leaves on the monring of the game (circa 9:30 to10:00 I think) returning late after the game (depends on the result I suppose!!).
We are on it. Give him a buzz, sound fella.
We've booked this

Looks like the Polish are trying to get a friendly between Poland and Ireland for some time later this year:
http://www.poland-ireland.com/
A Polish colleague of mine who lives in Poznan wrote an email containing this text this morning:
Anyway - feedback in local newspapers after Irish fans stay is very positive in most than 90% of population.
What I read , Poznań council town considers to establish partnerships with some Irish city , and Polish fans would like to organize something in Poznań with participation of Irish . eg friendly football match , etc.
Whole Poland says that the atmosphere you showed should be a practical lesson for other nations to enjoy such events with fun.
Once again thank you for your contribution to the society :-)
I'm sure everybody else who went there has had a similar response from Polish people they know so it's all good.
