I never thought we were in trouble once really, 'relaxed game' worked out fine in the end, we were always going to score.

That game was so so bad, like I mean really bad.
The 1st half was pure gash, the 2nd half fairly warmed me up (or was it the h/t pints ?)The pen miss from the Glens gave me a good oul chuckle ;) Some nice play from both sides, top class save from Cherrie and goal line clearances, throw in the 2 pens and a nice goal from Gloria and it wasnt to bad all in all.
You must be a hard taskmaster Rasputin.
I thought Dundalk were pretty poor really, very lackadaisical.
I thoguht neither decisions were penalties, especially the second one. But at least it made the game entertaining, making Dundalk come out and suddenly put some pressure on. Good game from there to the red card which was harshenough. Then Dundalk went back into their shell after the equaliser.
Did Foster know that had Dundalk went out and got a goal first up, the game was probably over? Even the concession of the first penalty seemed to have no effect.
Here's hoping for a Sligo v Rovers semi-final and this thread in meltdown...
What was the attendance like?
Glens had good support up, 350/400. Poor turnout from Dundalk considering the opposition and novelty factor. Bout 1900 id have a guess at.

Think thats a bit over the top. I was at the game and thought it was a decent enough show. First half Dundalk where happy in possession and frustrated Glentoran. In the second half the game opened up and the Glen's got into it more. I thought the first penalty was harsh and the second I thought was the correct decisions but a few down closer to that end said it was the player up clipped into Cherrie and not Cherrie who clipped him. Anyways after that I thought Dundalk played well and created plenty of chances.
Jesus lads relax yourselves.
To be fair I could only stumoch the first half, couldnt bring myself to be visually raped for another 45 minutes so yes maybe it did pick up in the second half.
But in the first half there was no urgency with either side, no flow, no anything it was just pure and utter p1ss.
Im not preaching from a pedastel or anything here, I know Dundalk can play football but in that first half one of the worst 45minutes ive watched in a long time.
The only silver lining in that first half was with all the players strolling around putting in the motions, barely, Daniel Kearns was still quality.
That young lad is gona be big, he didnt get sucked into the apathy and was constantly probeing, I hope to christ you have him on a 2 year contract so you can make some money off him before his inevitable move.
According to @democratsport on twitter the draw is
Dundalk v Cliftonville
Sligo Rovers/Portadown v Shamrock Rovers
Unfortunately we don't, out of contract at the end of the season. Kearns has been outstanding this season. I know I'm biased as a Dundalk fan and its probably to early in his league of Ireland career (which by the looks of things will be short) but I would say he is the best player in the league at the moment, if not he is without doubt the best young player.
Very happy getting Cliftonville in the semi's. Beat two teams ahead of them in their league and we play the LOI teams enough times throughout the year.

Not too disappointed to avoid Oriel. Sligo again....
At least you guys now know the best way to get to Sligo. Best draw for you, especially as there is no airport in Dundalk (or direct bus from Tallaght either)
If they are real fans, they'll hire a hovercraft.
It's understandable if your recent memories of Oriel Park are clouded by the 5-1 trashing and the 2-1 defeat, when some of the Rovers fans tried their best to demolish part of the ground.
Still we look forward to welcoming you back (if you are able to make the arduous 80km motorway journey) on May Bank Holiday Monday
I watched the Dundalk v Glentoran game, wasnt the best game of ball ever but was entertaining.
Kearns looks like a really good player, seems to have a real hunger for the game.
Dundalk look like they are going to have a sucessful season and are probably second favourites for the league now.
I haven't been up to Oriel since 2006 when we got a late equaliser to draw 1-1 en route to winning the league, (you know, the game that was delayed because Dundalk forgot the ESB bill) so there's plenty of happy memories and the 0-2 win there earlier in that season. I'll be more than happy to enjoy more of the same alright.
Oh dont worry, we have enough happy memories from last season collecting 9 points v Rovers, well apart from one ugly match (you know the game that was delayed for over 15 mins due to your hooligans)
I would really like a Sligo v Dundalk final, Tolka would be a nice venue, but part of me is actually hoping for a Rovers final if we did get past Clifftonville, even if it was in Tallaght.
Fun times ahead.
happy with the draw especially since cliftonville are something different to the 2 rag ball rover's. Looking forward to it and think we've a great chance to progress.
Kirby out for us against Portadown tonight cause of cards he picked up playing for Pats in 2008.
In the same article he made an unusual comment I thought: "I like the style of things up here. You are treated like an adult."
Were short odds to win tonight but considering they are playing in a cup final at the weekend, worth a few bob on it.
ye have sligo in my accum....derry and them r the only 2 dodge teams so heres hoping
FT
Sligo 3 Portadown 0
Portadown very poor tonight. Although I know they were resting some players, but still effectively ends the tie now :).
Ya Portadown were utter cack.
Portadown have bigger fish to fry. They have a League Cup final this saturday, and an Irish Cup semi final after that
You heading up to support them WW? Is the friendship from your setanta days still going strong ?
