Get real. A league cup match hardly counts. He hasn't played left back at the Champions League, Premeirship, or international level at all in the past five years.

Richard Dunne had a terrible season in 2008/09. His form led to him being off-loaded to Aston Villa for a paltry five million pounds. John O'Shea, meanwhile, made more appearances for Manchester United in that same season than any other player. He was consistently in the first team for a club which won the Premiership and got to the Champions League final, where he started and completed the match at right back.Quote:

He actually made his Pompey debut in centre midfield in the carling cup. Given that, he has impressed significantly at centre back this season. His versatility will help him at a club like portsmouth to stay in the 1st team picture.
