That wouldnt make sense either unless Celtic were planning on play St Ledger or one of the other central defenders at right back. In my own opinion this is not a deal that is going to happen

I want to keep Darren O'Dea hungry, fit and champing at the bit to get on and show he's worthy of a place in the starting line-up.
SSN reporting that O'Dea will move on loan to a Championship club tomorrow at the player's request, but that Celtic will also offer him a contract extension.
According to a Celtic mailing list I'm on, Watford are in for him, but I wouldn't be surprised if Ipswich make a move as well
BBC Scotland reporting that Wolves have made a loan bid for him.
Surely a no-brainer for him if true.

It is also understood that the Irish defender Darren O'Dea is considering loan offers from Ipswich and Wolves.
Hope to God it is true - would definitely be with a view to a permanent signing if it comes off as Mancienne looks far too good for us.
if its a straight choice between Ipswich and Wolves he has to go to Ipswich. Its all about first team football for him this season and there is no way that Wolves will play 2 young loan players at center half for the season.
I'd have said he'd learn more playing 20 games in the Premier League than 40 games in the Championship.
Daily Record saying its Reading he's off to, so it probably won't be them.
SKY Sports News yesterday said it's definitely not Ipswich.
According to the BBC O'Dea will sign on loan for Reading as soon as he signs a new 3 year deal with Celtic. At least he will be guaranteed football for a prolonged period.
Darren just signed for Reading until January.
Good move for O'Dea, he needs regular first team football.
It's a pity Strachan blocked his loan deal to Burnley last January, as he'd have gained great experience playing in a team pushing for a Premiership place.
Not sure that committing to Celtic for the next three years is such a good move, i would like to see him move permanently to a decent Championship team for the next couple of years.
