Says something that this young lad is deemed worthy to take a place on the bench alongside the likes of Saha, Cahill, Neill and Fellaini.

I just heard that Duffy is the captain of the N.Ireland under 19s and he scored twice for them today in a 4-0 victory over Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Who are the defenders in the Republic's under 19 and under 21 squads? Would they be better than this lad?
Shane you can have the opportunity to display your skills at the New Landsdowne Road or Windsor Park.
Think about it young man !
Duffy and Coleman in the depleted Everton squad for their game against Benfica in the Europa League.
Was on the Everton bench on Sunday against Bolton and again tonight against Spurs. Young Coleman got a few runs out recently, making his debut, I wonder will Duffy get a chance soon? Moyes seems to be biding his time and maybe he doesn't want to throw such a young player into the fray in such a crucial position.
Scored two for Everton reserves tonight. Coleman was playing too.

So as far as I can tell he's the captain of the Northern Ireland u-19 team? Hardly worth a thread in this forum.
I'm not so sure about the captaincy thing to be honest. There's still a chance he could play for us, since he's only 17 and anything could potentially happen, but if the mods see it fit, I'm sure they can move the thread.
I mean, we have threads on possible English players in this forum, so maybe they shouldn't be worth a thread as well. Jaysus.
leave jeasus out of it :D he has no irish in him at all:rolleyes:
Duffy has regularly captained the NI U-19 side which qualified for the elite stage of this season's competition. Worthington and Beaglehole seem to have decided that this tournament is a higher priority for him than the U-21 in which we've already lost the first two qualifiers.
Because of his age (18 over the new year holiday), he could theoretically spend the next four seasons switching between NI and RoI teams unless and until he actually plays a competitive full international for either. It's a mad set-up but there you are ;)
I must be the only one who follows young Duffy on here!
After seeing Duffy play for Everton in the Europa League the other night, it confirmed my belief that he's a great prospect. I hope he's called up to our next u19 or u21 squad.
Here's an article in the Belfast Telegraph:

A lot of input there from Nigel Worthington, he's probably going to try and tie him. I sincerely hope the FAI have been in touch.
Is Duffy on the bench for Everton today?
We need to be all over him like a cheap suit.
i hope the Fai have been in touch. We can certainly tell him he has a much better chance of playing in a World Cup with us. If he gets on for Everton I'd bring him along for the Brazil game. It will be very hard to say no to that
