he's worth well more than that! He aint going anywhere for that sort of money...i hope!!!!!!!!
*does some frantic research over on falkirk website*
btw who the fcuk are falkirk like!!!!
Falkirk won Div 1 last year but were not allowed into the Prem because the club was sub standard.
They have €500,000 from transfers. I would much rather live in Cork than Falkirk.
Stepping stone to bigger things. £150,000 - i'd say that's a good price.Much better than losing him in a year or two for nowt...
yeah saw they won div 1 easily enoughQuote:

me reckons flynny going nowhere.. esp not to scottish div1 side
might have been different matter if they had gotten promoted
estar. where u hear this from btw?
There is a story on soccer central about this although no fee is mentioned
http://www.soccercentral.ie/viewstor...&viewstory=yes
i hope city dont put money over the good of the team. O'Flynn is the teams lynchpin and our best player by far:mad:
It's an exclusive in the Irish Sun, only buy the paper because Keely has a column in it on a Tuesday. They also have a full page advert in the Kildare County programme, I like to support the companies that support County.Quote:

Dodge I would agree with you on that one. I think it would be a step down after all ur league is better than the scottish first div
Hasn't he said he would only go to a Premiership or 1st divison team in England?
Even the Scottish Premier league would be a step down if it was not Celtic or Rangers.
so we could well a situation where as was stated the money was right, i think the club would consider selling for 150,000 + sell on and appearance clauses, but you could/should/hopefully have JOF turning the deal down cause falkirk are CRAP :)
and it's a big step down from playing for the Rebel Army
If Shams got €250,000 for Noel Cúnt off Kilmarnock
Flynny has to be worth 4/500,000
Not that he's going anywhere anyway!
I'd think very poorly of him if he agreed to the move. Has he ever come out with statements saying he's desparate to go back to the UK
What is amazing to me is that (1) no one has approached city before about him and (2) that he was let go from the UK in the first place.
i consider him to be citys second best player ever (after dave barry, of course).
Only Pat Morley and George O'Callaghan come close to John O'Flynn as City's best ever. Barry was good but not in the same class as these three.
O' Flynn was actually only let go by Peterborough because they couldn't afford him after the ITV digital thing. His manager Barry Fry said one day he would play for Ireland.
BTW Neil you're right , if that rovers fella was worth 250,000 then I reckon Flynny has gotta be worth at least 500,000
from a football point of view,if you were john o flynn you would have a better chance of getting to play europoean football with ccfc than you ever would with falkirk and they can't even play in the scottish premier!!by playing european football you would therefore have a better chance of being noticed by english clubs' scouts than you would playing with falkirk i would say.
What i'm saying is if he wants to play in england and not with falkirk he should hold out until the end of the season when we could qualify for europe.
I'd be disappointed with flynny if he left City for Falkirk.
Falkirk would not be a good move for him. i think we all realise that in the mid to long term an offer will come in that neither player nor club can turn down, but this isn't it.
Moving to Falkirk would be a step backwards for flynn, i honestly think our standard is higher, we still have a shot of euro football, something Falkirk will never have, his exposure there would be less, even from the U21 point of view.
I doubt city would accept the offer anyway, he's worth more than that to us, regardless of how much he's worth to Falkirk.
The 96fm website is reporting that "Chelski" are interested in Glenn Crowe - a 1.25m fee is being reported. Probably absolute rubbish but Flynnie is worth at least as much as Crowe if not potentially more.

ITV Web and Teletext has the same story about Crowe
he'd only be there as a babysitter for duff..
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I don't think so hahahahahahahaha Crowe for chelsea stop the bus i want to get off.

Dave Barry was citys one truley great player. He was able to control a match. Since ive been going to matchs only Pat Byrne could match him.
definitly must be true soQuote:

Greetings!
I'm a Falkirk Fan, trying to find out info about this O'flynn fellow.
I didn't think Falkirk would be getting ripped to bits.
Our Record Transfer is £450K for Derek Ferguson. We've paid over 100K, 4 times.
We got knocked back for the SPL because our ground did not have 10,000 seats. Our 12,500 seater stadium is getting built right now.
As we didn't get promoted, we've lost our strikeforce, Lee Miller to Bristol for £350K and £400K for our entire Management team, Collin Samuel, Mark Kerr and Owen Coyle to Dundee Utd
So we have a bit of cash to play with, I can't see us offering more than 150K.
This Season we've signed Russell Latapy from Rangers and few others but we need a strikeforce.
I would say the top of the Scottish First would be on a Par with the Irish League.
He would certinaly get more exposure as plenty of our players move to English Clubs or Larger Scottish Clubs. Our Cup games are on SKY or FIVE. If we bags 20 goals in the Scot First Division He'll move for 300K easy! Davie Weir and Alex Rae started there career with us
So whats the info on O'Flynn is he a target man, speedster or poacher.
Hello there, City fans!
I too am a Falkirk fan, and our club is highly ambitious, we'll be in the Premier league within 2 years if not, one.
Can you tell us how many goals O'Flynn scored last season? I read somewhere 38, is that about right?
If O'Flynn ever wants to play for Ireland, and as Barry fry has said he is good enough too some day, he'll wait for a better offer. Going to the Scottish first division is a step backwards and could leave his career in a rut. He should stick with City, continue being prolific for the U21s and wait for a premiership side to come in and move then, top first division side at the very worst. He'd be absolutley mad to goto Falkirk, no offence to their fans...
If Falkirk are as good as thier fans say they are and are as ambitious as they seem. Flynn would be only 1 season away from playing in front of 60,000 people at Celtic Park. Good exposure there. Also look at a team like Livingston - they did ok in Europe for a team out of the scot 1st div. just one season.
Don't get me wrong i agree with the earlier posts, i think it would be a terrible move for him - just throwing a few possitives about the move - people seem to think that Falkirk would be a huge step down - in the long run that may not be the case.
Flynn got 18 goals last season i think???
Indeed, and as Olaf mentioned, one of our youngsters departed just last week for close to £400,000 stg. to Bristol City. And hed only played in our first team for a season and a half. He is only 20, and won his move from us, so no reason O'Flynn couldn't do the same or better.Quote:

He'll have better exposure than Lee Miller did (the guy who went to Bristol) anyway, as we WILL be in the SPL soon!
i think its an insulting bid. anyway has'nt he been quoted as saying he'll only move to a premiership club or big first division club?
no disrespect to falkirk but would they be considered bigger than us?
No way Pablo. How could they be considered bigger than us ?
After all they don't have our European pedigree :D :D :D
So has Barry Town got a European Pedigree. ;)
Our best Player is away to the English second division. Most Players follow the cash and if we pay more than Cork, He'll want to come to us.
Whether you except our bid or not is differerent matter? There is no chance in Hell we'll pay more £150K, God knows how many euros that is!
Cheers
Alright folks, yet another falkirk fan here!!!
As mentioned, despite being a 1st division club, O'Flynn will get much more interest playing for us IMO. Last year with the quality youngsters we had, scouts from Man U, Everton, Charlton etc were at most of our home games !!
Also, to give you an idea of the standard....Stuart Taylor was playing for Drogheda last season and I'm led to believe he was one of their best players!!! ...although he did well with us, he had to fight long and hard before he got into the 1st team!!
I think O'Flynn will get more exposure with us and it would be a good career move for him.
What kind of striker is he??
Well if you are comparing yourselves to the Irish league then i dont think much of you.Quote:

If compared to the Eircom League then i'd say we are not far off middle of the Scotts premier. Falkirk is a bad move for any player in eL. Not a chance of getting seen and would get more recognition for staying at home with better chances of getting seen in Europe. Clubs like Falkirk know their worth now that they go snoopin' about .... for get it and sort your lives out.
Falkirk = Death (and words to that effect)
What clan are Falkirk ?
can someone clear up whether it's 150,000 euros or stg?
there is quite a difference (not that i'd take it in either case).
for the falkirk boys, o'flynn probably falls under the speedster/poacher label if you have to have one. good close control, very fast, and a really great finisher. strong enough in the air too but it wouldn't be his game. he scored 18 league goals last season, more in the cup games, strike rate of well over 1 in 2 games. second highest scoreer to glenn crowe who has been capped for ireland based on his scoring (only three more goals than o'flynn). he's played three times for the U21 team scoring twice. he's top scorer this season as we stand.
try www.eirways.com/citynet for a profile.
the money isn't good enough for him though. and i doubt he'd move unless you were already up to be honest, judging by what he's said about going back to england.
FAO falkirk footballl club
lads lads lads ye've gotten it all wrong
o'flynn is a 1 season wonder, the guy bottles it under pressure misses peno's.
the real player ye want is Noel 'Hartigoal' Hartigan
this is very tall and strong and is a proven international...
plus he has alot more experience then oflynn and is still a very young player.
i think it would be a good move for both parties if ye concentrated on hartigoal.. a much better option :)
i know city fans would be sorry to see noel go but its probably in his best interests as a footballer, we cant stand in the way of progress
