I wonder who in the league has the highest qualifications or do they all leave school early to focus on football.

seamus coleman id say ;)
Slightly off the topic but former Leeds and Bradford (did he play for Wigan too?) defender David Weatherall has a first class honours degree in chemistry.
Jesus, you'd think it was the off season with all these stupid threads.
Clive Delaney is has a B Comm, a masters in accountancy and is a qualified chartered accountant. Don't think you can really get much more qualified than that, although I'm sure there's plenty of players with similar qualifications.
Neil Horgan has finished his barr exams i think, so can now practice law.
Dr. Socrates.
Off topic here too, but hasn't Van Nistelrooy got a degree in accountancy.
He always looked like a boring sod.
Well super hoop Tadgh Purcell got his degree from UCD recently in Botany
Also who is the Cork player with a law background?
Johnny McDonnell always came across as an educated kind of guy
Eamonn Zayed and Aidan O'Keefe both either have, or are heading towards, Law degrees, I think.
Yeah i read OKeefe saying that if he wasnt a footballer he would be a solicitor
O'Keefe was a trainee solicitor when he played with us. Dunno if he's gone full time
alan murphy has stayed part-time with us as he's a ''home loan exectutive'' with EBS!
thats why he left Derry wanted to make use of the Degree he got!
Isnt Alan Matthews a manager with First Active?
Dont know where though
And Dermot Keely is a teacher of course so he has a bit of a edumacation also
Neal Horgan went to USA at the start of the season to help him finish his barr exams in law. He went on trial wit Colorado Rapids at the time as well but decided to come home because he was unhappy with the contract that the Rapids offered. He signed full time with us for the next two seasons so Id say he's put the law to the side for the near future anyway.
Myself and Mr Kevin Hunt are on our way into Second Year Business studies in DCU...
Another one off-topic, I remember there beeing something on TV about Shaka Hislop having a degree in....... rocket science ... (I just looked it up and it seems to be true..... here's a whole list of footballers with degrees for ya : http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/archi.../t-296320.html )
In the EL.... Clive Delaney has already been mentioned, can't think of anyone else at the moment.
Very interesting to see so many who can play at a high level and still achieve in the educational sphere. It wasn't always like this. Good example for young lads.
I have a degree in Maths. Now I only need to play EL football. Oh, this thread is ridiculous btw :D
Oliver St. John Gogarty, who played for Bohs a few years ago, was a Doctor. We win.
I remeber reading Steve Coppell had a degree in Economics or something or other.
Plenty of el players have qualifications. There's plenty of sparkies out there.
Isn't Danny O'Connor high up in the credit union?
Which is why he couldnt sign full-time for Drogheda
Is'nt Roddy Collins a qualified plasterer?:D
