You really stopping in Ferbane? Have a couple of pints in Hineys, it's been renovated recently and Damien who runs it now is a good bloke.
Yeah....the pitstop in Ferbane. I remember one day we were coming back from a Shannon-Buccanners game around 10 years ago and we stopped in Ferbane and went into this big pub. 5pm on a Saturday afternoon and there was nobody in the pub, either behind the counter or at the bar...Strange I thought. Then a guy came running in, straight behind the bar, wearing a butchers apron. He served us, and ran back out....he came back 15 mins later, served us again and ran out. A guy came in for a beer and when there was nobody behind the bar, made a phone call. Back comes the geezer in the butchers apron.
Apparently he is the local publican, butcher, post office and undertaker. Talk about a one horse town...
I was waiting for the music to Deliverance to start.....
Hi Lads
The Game in Athlone is on Sat at 7pm this was scheduled for Fri but Athlone have switched their home games to Sat
Thanks
Nice timimg....leave for Athlone at 12.00 or miss the FA Cup final...
If get here early you could watch the FA Cup final in the pub across the road from the ground. If you have a bus running I can probably arrange snacks there for you all.
Better to leave at 2 and make a stop for the match at 3, leaving you plenty of time to enjoy the delights of Ferbane and Athlone after 5, (presuming its starting at 3?) or.............leave just before Rooney, Rooney, Rooney, Rooneeeay! gets his turn to lift the cup and tear up the finest roads the mid-lands have to offer! Id take option 1 myself.
We will find out about a bus in the morning & contact everyone in the SC afterward to see the numbers.
ha ha....yeah rite!
Anybody want to predict an outcome for this one??
(The game not the love triangle) :D
Personally I don't want to make a prediction :p
The heart and the logic part of my head says a win but the L37 part of my head predicts a crushing defeat and a rush down into the mid-table mire......
Our back four is having trouble doing the basics right lately. We seem unable to defend set pieces. 2 goals against us in Kilkenny, 4 in Dundalk, 1 against Shelbourne all scored from corners, 4 goals from free kicks.
Our midfield is strong while your own isn't that great.
Your defence is solid while our front two of Lavine and McT will prove a handful for the best of teams.
Along with all of this Heffernan is due a good game. He might be saving it for you.
We just need a win to get us going. Going for a 3-1 win to us.:ball:
Just about the ground. The away section is at the end of the stand furthest away from the turnstiles. As gael knows wherever you sit the view is perfect.
I will be filming the match so will have all the action on line Monday sometime.
We haven't exactly posed the greatest ariel threat so far..........
Who plays in the centre of your midfield again??Quote:

Eric really shouldn't be causing us problems tbhQuote:

Shur he's happy as long as he's getting his wages every weekQuote:

Any place to hang flags??Quote:

Can we put them across the seats??
Good stuff :ball:Quote:

Our midfield is generally Heffernan,Stevie Gavin on the wings and Mixie Harty, Davy Byrne in the centre and but Ian Rossiter was picked there on occasions as well.
Places to hang them as far as I know at the back of the stand and have never seen an issue with them being laid across seats unless we get a 2000+ turnout.
Eric even at 35 is still a greatplayer and can cause defences trouble. Our bench up front is strong as well with McGee and O'Dowd waiting for a chance.
The set piece issue isn't caused by height for us but by players not attacking the ball and letting it get to ground trying to clear it.
Good old Mixie, always nice to have someone to give hell to. :p
Davy Byrne aswell. I think the word I'm looking for is "combative".......
Fair EnoughQuote:

I think all Blues fans would be far more worried about O'Dowd. Actually on an aside why hasn't he been starting??Quote:

Oi....dont I get a say??
Ach shush and get back on topic.
What were we talking about again??
Oh Right, Killer Bees
Discuss........
Ha...he has followed me over to the darkside!
"Corner Boys" fill me in on this.
Scum element has now been removed from our crowd with the new ground. A lot easier to keep an eye on people. Club is coming down strong on this. You will have a couple of stewards looking after you.
Supporters even warned over the use of the word W*nker. So read the ground regulations carefully.
If any idiots threaten you through BEBO or anything like that send me a link or a name and I will pass it on to the event controller and he will stop them entering
Battery, the corners boys are nothing and monkfish, they are nothing to worry about,no-one is interested in getting into any fights and theres nothing going on on bebo,a few of the lads were chating to some of the limerick lads.
Best of luck
We've never had a problem in Athlone lads, always treated well by the locals, don't think it will be any different this time around.
As for the game I'm going for a 1-1 draw
