Not exactly a wealth of talented strikers in the works, is there? Just three forwards, who play for Exeter, Stockport and Galway. After Quinn retires, we're fairly screwed...
Good to see someone called Fiachra in the squad. Should screw up some commentators, that one.

Not a great result today..... Look it up.
Eh...look up the date of the post being replied to maybe?
The guys in the original thread are retiring now.
Though with the age profile of our squad, that means they may yet have a future...
8 nil loss to the Dutch is a bit nasty in fairness but this side is short of alot of regulars. http://www.fai.ie/ireland/news/irela...by-netherlands

Good to see McAuley involved at underage level again. Is that Tee's first call up?
Just noticed Ciaran Dunne has a few appearances for Falkirk, and is listed as Scottish on Wikipedia
Lots of new faces. McMahon, Clarke, tee and Collins have never been involved before. Kayode hasn't been involved much either since he went to rotherham. Pretty sure Dunne played under 17 for Scotland. With no shiels included likely he has rejoined Scots?
First call up for Conor Tee and Jack James? English-born lads at Leicester and Luton, respectively. Is that McAuley's first call up in a while?
The U18s won 2-1 against Romania earlier: http://www.fai.ie/ireland/news/irela...defeat-romania
Tee and Dunne with the goals
Not that I've an issue with it but that team appears slightly more reliant on lads born outside of Ireland than some of our other underage teams. James, McMahon, Collins, Dunne, Clarke and Tee making up the majority of the team with all born in England, aside from Dunne (Scotland).
The 18s are just players who are too old for 17s and not good enough for 19s or, in Bolger's case, suspended from the 19s. I wouldn't worry too much about the make-up of the squad.

That Wright is a lovely player at Villa and looked so good at Euros. But Idah and Parrott are different level. I am sincerely convinced we have 2 PL seniors on our hands there and that's as good as you can say about players of that age.
Sobowale made his first appearence for Man City 18s with joe hodge On bench.
Seamus keogh made first appearence for southampton 18s
Kian levy made first appearence for reading 18s
Liam delap(former Irish International rory delaps son) who is an under16 made first appearence for derby 18s
Sobowale came off the bench last week as well. He's friends with my friend's son in Waterford.
I don't know, I just saw Sobowale on the bench last week and I passed it on to them
Actually it was me who enquired on here about where his loyalty lies. As I mentioned on another thread, he is being described as Nigerian in media reports since his move to Man City and he is using the Nigerian flag on his twitter account. I was hoping someone on here could allay my fears, so get the finger out Tets, as you are the man in the know!;)
Yeah tets, make the necessary enquiries would you.

Jordan McEneff played the full game for Arsenal U18s in their 2-0 win over Brighton, who had Matt Everitt as an unused sub: https://int.soccerway.com/matches/20...?ICID=PL_MS_07
Is it just me, or is there a dearth of Irish players in the U18s of different English clubs this year compared to last? Is this a cause for concern? I know a number of lads have moved up to U23 and a few quicker than expected (Cassidy, Idah, Parrott) so maybe it's a good sign and will even out over the coming 12 months but if the lads now at U23 level don't make the grade, then we could be in real trouble on the talent-pipeline front. Or perhaps LOI clubs are starting to have more success in keeping young prospects at home for longer, which would be a good thing, assuming they are receiving good coaching.
He's described as Nigerian by Nigerian sites - they do the same for Shodipo, Obafemi, etc. The flag doesn't necessarily mean he's committed to them either - he's Nigerian and Irish so could easily just be expressing that. I remember Noe Baba had Cameroon flags on his but he's only ever played for Ireland.
Matthew Everitt gets the winner for Brighton U18s against Norwich: https://int.soccerway.com/matches/20...?ICID=PL_MS_10
As Tets failed to deliver on a promise he never made to check out Sobawale's choice of countries,. this article by Stephen Hunt seems to imply he sees himself as Irish. Exciting times and my gut tells me lots of these underage players will make it.

Now, I am encouraged by the fast progress made by some of our youngsters, particularly our strikers, in the academies in England. And I've said before that the doomsayers in the Post-Keane era could well be shocked by how quickly our list of options might expand. But even I think it's getting a bit ahead of ourselves to be talking about a senior cap for Troy Parrott: https://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/2018...tarlet-parrott
Having watched him, I think he could offer us something we don't have presently. Really good vision, speed and anticipation. In saying that, because of his age and physical development I would only see him coming on for the last 10 minutes of a game and would this justify his inclusion in a squad when others could come on earlier and make a difference?
I think he’s being careful not to rule out the prospect as it might imply he was averse to picking young players. I don’t think it’s realistic we will see him before he plays a senior game for Spurs.
The implication by the author that Michael Duffy could be included is a bit daft. We would have heard he has put the papers in to switch if he was doing so, surely. And O’Neill doesn’t even hint that he has.
