Thats basically his record in the last 2 years against the top teams. So sadly after supporting him all year i think it time for him to go.
Every year he makes stupid changes out of nowhere for big games Brosnan in form and playing well not starting but the complete waster who hasnt been in a squad for a month now comes into starting line up all of a sudden.
Then a left back comes on centre mid instead of a very good central midfielder.
The players dont listen to him as O Connor was meant to be left wing but just strolled into the centre standing there offering no help leaving Frost all alone.
Time for him to go now imo.
Edit: When you actually look at that record its a disgrace.
Yes, yes it is.
He should have gone back ini may when his system was shown up by a poor monaghan team and outragous substitutions. The story then was "but if we get rid of him who will we get?theres no one out there" now it seems its theres only ten games left so theres no point in changing him.
First game in the markets field next year in DIVISION ONE SOUTH.....Limerick Fc Vs FC Carlow
The way i see it panning ut is
away to a poor Waterford United (L)
Away to finn Harps (L)
Home to salthill (W)
Away to Cork City (D)
Home toLongford Town (W)
Away to Shelbourne (D)
Home to Wexford Youths (D)
Away to mervue (W)
Home to Athlone Town (W)
Away to Monaghan United (L)
Home to Waterford United (W)
Yup I have supported Scully since he came in but there is only so many times you can make the same mistakes and not pay the price. Fair enough if it was hard to see what is going wrong but it is so blatant it makes me sick.
At this stage it isn't even a case of who could replace him, any half decent manager/coach should be able to see whats going wrong.
When should I send in my CV lads cause I honestly think I wouldn't make as many silly mistakes as Scully has been making.
Also that record above is shocking reading and tells the story really. Lost 7 games to top teams and only managed to win 1 at home. 1 bloody game out of 11.
on paper we have a good squad its just his poor tactics and formations that infuriate me.last night the team looked shapeless again. We easily have the players to go with 442 which at home at least is what we should be doing.Every home game he goes out with a negative approach.Their only so much of this crap we can take.
Team selection, formation and tactics (at home) are Scullys only weakpoints, other than that he's done a fine job! :nerd:
The time has come for him to go. Money like we have been spending needs rapid results in what is a poor division. His tactics are questionable, to say the least.
p.s Keep this football related. No personal attacks on Scully or players please.
Someone just posted in the Mons game thread get Hendo in have to say id love to see him come in til the end of teh season at least see what he could do.
Who would others want in if Scully was to go?
I have always supported him, but this division is not a paticularly strong one, with the resources he has, the backing he has enjoyed, we should be able to win against those sides competing with us for promotion, not every time, but some of it, but instead we are seeing the opposite, a big league game at home almost invariably means a loss and it destroys momentum and attendances have to be rebuilt again after each one, only for the cycle to repeat each time.
I am not there at each game so wont call for him to go as I dont feel its fair as I havent seen the games with my own eyes, however, information on here and results are making me doubt if he will correct these faults, and without their being corrected, we will remain in this division. I would still like him to prove doubters wrong, but it seems a bit less likely after each home game lost against those around us in the table.
Hendos only plus is his assistant martin cambridge. First up scully (2) farmer and sheil have to go. who in? Liam Buckley, Mick Kerley, Willie Boland, Tommy Barrett, Derick McCarthy or any combination of someone with a min A licence, a brain, communication skills, doesnt sign tons of reserve players from another era from his previous club etc.
POS said at the thomond park presentation that we have the best manager in the league. He also seams like he values stability so I can't see any changes being made for the run in. Only advantage is we don't have the top teams at home anymore so maybe it won't matter.
I agree, haven't been to a lot of games, but Pat O'Sullivan seems like a business man, so if he decides Scully stays then surely he knows what he's doing. I'm neither for or against him, but I think changing the manager this close to the end of the season isn't going to improve things in any way, not when they have to settle in, and change the whole philosophy of the team and club.
big budget ,big squad, massive support from the chairman our manager, coaching team are nearing judgement day ,have to say wouldn,t have any great faith in the managers sidekicks,he himself though could lead from the front by not seeking the santuary of the dugout when his team go behind.
Wouldnt go near any of them now wouldnt be the time to bring in someone with no expeience at all. At the end of the season yes but im talking about if Scully was to go tomorrow dont think inexperience at this stage of the season would be smart.
And dont want Kerley near the club ever and you know why that is surprised you even mentioned him.
I just said Hendo as it would be able to be done quickly as he is out of the job.
Not that it matters as Scully will be going nowhere.
and i dont mean to be smart here. Sean Connor is a good manager, is in the complete wrong place at the wrong time where he is. I wouldnt rule him out if any vacancy comes up at Limerick
Liam Buckley would be the obvious choice for me anyway. I reckon he'd take us up if he was given the reigns now. Good manager with bags of experience who plays good football. I hope I'm wrong but I don't think we'll go up under Scully. We need to kick on and start winning most games now but I fear we may go the opposite way and start to regress. When a manager is at a club 3+ seasons and there's no marked improvement it's time to say adios I'm afraid!
When you played us up in Monaghan you should have beaten us off the park but a lack of confidence let us of the hook. Only point I would make is if you lads have little faith in scully then how does the players feel
It has to be frustrating for the players to see Scully, Shiels and Farmer consistantly making the same mistakes over and over. As I've said they aren't even small mistakes they are blatant bad decisions that are being made.
I get the feeling they go out with a game plane to beat a team. If the tactics aren't working they get so baffled that their brilliant tactics that they have spent all week devising aren't working that they make worse and worse decisions during the course of the game and don't let there common sense take over.
Sean Connor has a proven track record of achieving success if he has resources at his disposal.
hi There:
Big Match this weekend. If we don't win Scully and Farmer should resign. If not they should be sacked. With the squad of players we have we should be strolling to promotion.
However over 3 yrs Scully and his assistant have failed to convince me that he has what it takes to get us up.
We are running out of games fast and should make the move before its' too late. Some of the tactics and players being used are mind boggling to say the least. Can we please play 4-4-2 and leave the Pyramids to the Egyptians and Diamonds to Jewellers for god's sake.
Oh by the way Can you please pick players that actually give a fu**K ? I know he is gone now but why was he playing v Monaghan
Looking at yet another wasted opportunity
JohnD
Can ye keep him? Pretty please!
Well after that load of crap tonight i think he has to go.
He should not be in charge by the time we play Bray.
Go now, for the love of god go while it's still salvagable!!
Get Liam Buckley in to play a bit of ball with a team of ball players instead of that pathetic, clueless, nonsense tonight.
DISGUSTING.
Pat O'Sullivan deserves better than for our club to be the laughing stock of Irish football again.
The longer Scully is there the quicker Pat O Sullivan will get sick of pumping money into the club and could you blame him. The man seems to be putting his heart and soul into the club and get **** back in return from the management.
Its not only Scully that needs to go either its Farmer and Shiels too. They are supposedly top coaches but they sit idly by as terrible decisions are made and I've seen them make a few howlers myself from behind the dugout.
Look at Roddy, Dunne and Mathews, its not rocket science that they are doing. They are getting the best out of the team they have and playing to their players strengths. Scully does the opposite and wants players to play to the way he wants and it doesn't work. Gaffney got switched from left wing, then moved up front then moved to the right wing last night. Christ the lad probably didn't know whether he was coming or going half the time.
Keep it to the football lads, nothing personal about the man please. I totally understand the frustration. Serious money spent and all that's happening is we are consolidating our position within the division. The fans and pat o Sullivan deserve more than this. Personally I think it would be a terrible time to have to bring in a new manager, but the results and brand of ball being played despite having the big players in the squad is inexcusable.
Limerick has a squad as good as most of the Premier. 1-1 at home to Salthill defies understanding.
Something needs to be done not just for yourselves but for the League - the Premier would be much better for the presence of Limerick.
lads i think scully has to go and go now his tactics are crap and he just cant seem to get good top players motivated for big games and i think if we could get a new top manager in now we could get the boys motivated to push on and try win their last number of games and give us a chance of going up so out scully and out now before its too late.....
the heat in the kitchen is rising and going on what we witnessed last night our mgt team are struggling to cope with it.saw the end of the warmup,do we now have three assistants helping the manager and if we do what are they doing?the efforts of farmer and shiels are already questionable without someone else adding to the confusion and not a limerickman between them???last night brought judgement day all that bit closer, felt sorry for the chairman last night.
good spot, and dont forget Barry Ryan the keeper coach who hasnt exactly shone this season. As mentioned above by another poster i dont want new positions created to absolve the rubbish manager nor his management team. If one goes they all have to go and no positioning them into alternative positions to save them from the chop.
so after Limerick beating Bray is it still time for scully to go.
From what one of the players tells me Scully has yet again shown how much of a clown he is.
Monday after one of his coaches never showed up he just turned to the players told them training was off and walked away leaving players that had travelled from Dublin and other parts of the country furious. Great preparation for the last 7 games of the season that we need to win most if not all of.
Great stuff from the coach too not turning up have to love the commitment.
Edit: Not stated as 100% fact clearly stating its something i was told at the start if ive been told wrong fair enough no need to cry.
